That's a very on-the-spot question, as I have just looked at the Omega AquaTerra Small Seconds: The date window at 6 is my preferred option. Then there is the standard position at 3 and in some few cases at the 9 o'clock position (I am not going into the 4:30 position....).
BUT are there watches with a date window at 12 o'clock (or just below)???

Here you go man: Longines Conquest Heritage
And same vintage
And
Well my Swiss army has a day window on 12…
This and the Longines shown above are the first two which come to mind:
Honestly don’t understand how the date at 12 puts people of.
sometimes I find a watch for example a cool chrono and then there is that hideous date window at 4:30 and I can’t even look at the watch anymore. At 3 is fine I guess but for me its
Not enough day windows at 2
just saying
Very nice, guys! Thanks a lot!
Especially the Longines ones are great!
You’ve re got to love a date window to want it as 12. 3 is ok, 6 is fine. Seen any at 9!?
None for me is ideal. 😊👌
I've got one in front of me right now from Nivada Grenchen, but the timing hand at rest interferes with it a bit...
TAG Heuer also did one awhile back in a special edition Carrera that I thought turned out pretty well (but would have the same problem as the Nivada I suppose)... https://wornandwound.com/introducing-the-tag-heuer-carrera-sport-chronograph-160-years-special-edition/

Rolex just did a fairly notable one in the new green/black GMT Master II that they launched this year.

I think it's actually spelled A Lange Sohne.
A date window at twelve?!?!? Blasphemy!!! It is akin to having a Rolex with the crown and date at nine!
Seiko SPC151 Big Date
Date in any of the current places is fine.
I think most people complain just to be contrary.
Though if a hand that spends 99.9% of it's existence at 12 interferes with the date at 12, that's a misstep IMO. coughchronoscough
