🚨NWA🚨 I have been dying to tell you all this story

This story begins in November of 2023. @The_Familys_Time and I were invited by our AD to attend a special event in Las Vegas the week of the Formula 1 Grand Prix. We didn’t know much about the event except that it was a collaboration with IWC and AMG, and that the Mercedes team would be there. We had no plans to attend the race (tickets were so expensive before they dumped the prices prior to the race), but we made plans to fly in and fly out for whatever this event was going to be.

Everyone was buzzing about the race, the city was all dressed up, we were all dressed up, we knew this was going to be epic.

The event was held on a separate race track, with a full pop up in the gravel between the road tracks. IWC brought out their Swiss team and had every watch on display. Mercedes brought in numerous AMGs for everyone to see and touch. And inside a container, there was a special preview of an unreleased AMG. We had to sign an NDA and put our phones in faraday bags before we were granted entry. The car itself was spectacular. And that was when we noticed something strange. Will.i.am was there just chilling. We thought we were going to be among other clients and collectors, but this thing was actually a full-blown publicity event filled with celebrities, super models, and mega influencers. We were among the few normies there.

We left the container and walked to the track to watch George Russell and Sir Lewis Hamilton practice their hot laps in AMG GTs.

Meanwhile, other celebrities like James Marsden and Aaron Paul started arriving.

Sacai and AMG released a special collab at the event, and while we were looking at the items, Aaron Paul walked right up to hubs and said it’s been a long time and asked him how it’s going. 😆 I guess hubs just has one of those faces.

While we were watching the jaw-dropping display from two of the best drivers in the world, we were introduced to the head of IWC North America retail. Here’s where the watch part comes in.

I wore a Cartier Tank to the event 🤓and so I opened my BIG FAT mouth and said “well I would bewearing an IWC, but the one that I liked has been discontinued.” He turned to me and asked which one that was. So I told him that it was the Da Vinci, and that I liked the articulating lugs. He raised his brows and asked me if I remembered what it looked like, so I described the particular reference to him.

Ten minutes later, he came back to us and asked when we were heading home. We told him we had the 6 AM flight. “No problem,” he said, “the Da Vinci you’re looking for will be at the boutique tomorrow. It’s yours and will wait there until you can come back to see it.”

Jaw one the floor. How could this event get any more mind blowing? I guess the lesson here is that if you want something that is discontinued, ask the right person who knows where to find it and has the power to move it. 🥹

Well, it did get more mind blowing when we met Toto Wolff, so I guess the goodness just kept on rolling… And however tall you think he is, he’s taller.

The night wrapped up with the Mercedes drivers running hot laps under a drone show. The rotors on the cars were glowing bright red from the friction with how hard they were pushing those AMGs.

Then, bonus, the next day, my friend sent me a message that THE Adriana Lima wore the same outfit as me to a red carpet event for The Hunger Games.

Could this day have gotten any better? I don’t think so. I peaked on November 14, 2023.

It feels like there’s a lot of magic and luck imbued in this one. Thanks to my love for the surprise and the memories we have to go along with it.
