Watch for Nurse

Hello, I’m thinking of getting a Smith Everest PRS-25 for my wife as a Mother’s Day gift. She is a nurse and I feel like this is a piece she can wear on the job. Any females and nurses that could give an opinion on this idea?  Thanks!

Really all the best in trying to get one sadly 😅 I gave up on the 4th try.

What a lovely watch! I'd certainly be over the moon with one if I was her. My only comment with regards to her wearing it at work would be that some places require that nurses are 'bare below the elbow' for infection control purposes, so many can't wear watches sadly. This isn't the case in all settings though, so not sure if you could find out if she has to or not?

I have a Vario and like it a lot. I‘m sure she would be happy with the choice. If it’s tough to get in time Boldr make a nice field medic watch also.

Having decent water resistance is the most important quality that I'd look for as a healthcare professional and this watch nails it! Being small in size is also a plus as they fit under gloves and PPE comfortably, and for procedures in which your mum would want to take off the watch, it can slip inside scrub pockets easily without weighing it down. This watch is a good choice! Hope your mum likes it!

Yes! I am a female and in the healthcare field. Also own a Smith Everest. I usually see patients in the hospital while rounding and mostly in clinic so I don’t deal with too much bodily fluids… If I plan to help some nurses clean some gross stuff I just take off my watch. So I guess it depends on what your wife does but I see floor nurses with steel watches. I usually talk watches with a guy nurse on Med/Surg that wears his Tudor BB58, Omega speedmaster and his Rolex submariner. Saw another guy with a new Tudor chrono panda. I see some nurses with a cartier love bracelet too (7k bracelet). I see a good amount of nurses wearing their jacket too so it helps to cover the watch. When I wear PPE gloves, I don’t usually get “stuff” all the way up my wrist.

so.. in conclusion, sounds like a great Mother‘s day gift!

Thanks for everyone’s input. I feel really confident that this is the one to go with. Ive been lurking around the aftermarket and think I can source a adventurine/jubilee thats reasonably priced.
