Leather strap on a dive watch

Faux pas or acceptable?

Great if you don't get it wet. I bet 99% of dive watches never see water and leather looks so nice. I can imagine the smells and salt they hold once you get out of the water not to mention the organisms.

Looks better than acceptable….. looks 👌👌

Perfectly acceptable.

And in the highly unlikely event that you are going to be diving it's an easy swap to rubber for a day or two.

·

I do it all the time. In fact, I even have some treated leather and leather/rubber hybrid straps that I can just leave on for swimming or snorkeling.

·

I don’t do it, it gets soaking wet way too often.   It felt kinda gross as well, so I won’t make that mistake again.
That said - I think there are some really good faux leather or treated leathers that are fine with water exposure.

Looks v. stylish! I've always questioned metal bracelets on a diver. Should be rubber!

I actually really like a nice, simple and quality leather strap on a dive! Enjoy!

·

Totally acceptable. Whoever says otherwise is a gatekeeping moron stuck up their own arse who can't change a strap.

·

Sure, you can do it. It looks similarly to a GMT bezel on a regular dive watch to me: It's aesthetically pleasing, but you wonder why it's there.

·

I don’t have any issue with the leather (but it did take me a bit to come around to that opinion). I do think a strap with a bit of a taper to it would look even better.

Absolutely acceptable 🤙❤️
