Brown or black?

The original Oris strap for the Royal flying Doctor service edition 1 was a nubuck brown which I quite enjoyed, but couldn't find a replacement for it. I wore this black strap for a while now and although it does seem to work, I still longed for a brown nubuck. After two years of searching, finally, I was able to acquire a one very similar in colour to the original. However, I now question whether or not the original should've been paired with a black strap 🤔

They both look great but I like the way the brown highlights the pulsations scale…

·

Damn, I spent 30 seconds looking at the beautiful Oris not finding the difference. With that model (that I was unaware of) I don't think it matters.

Some people can wear black. I have problems with the dour lifelessness of it. If you don' t find black to be a depressing void, it may be for you.

There's some white stitching though.... I see that as faint glimmers of hope 🥺

If you live in the US, you should reach out to Dave Kurdzionak at the American Oris service center in Stoneham, Mass. He can sort you out.

I believe the brown and orange was originally intended to mimic the colours seen by the pilots during their flights across the outback.

Brown

I like brown. Great watch!

·

The black makes the watch look a bit more dressy while the brown a bit more casual. Two straps two occasions.

·

Brown definitely

Brown.

·

I prefer the brown, it adds a bit of contrast to the watch. Oris recently launched their online strap store, you might be able to find an original replacement there?

Brown for me, but both look class

💯👍 nice #oris

Clearly brown to me. The yellow pulsation markers compliment that color scheme perfectly

·

I like brown. Lol what a pretty watch! Both straps work tbh

I thought this was a GMT for a second

·

Both work really well.

Buy straps with quick release spring bars so you can interchange easily and wear both. 👊🏻

Black is usually the safe choice but brown looks, in my humble opinion, more classy, elegant and, generally, stylish. I apply this to my shoes and sunglasses too.
