I’ve done the unthinkable….

I have sold all my watches (yes even the BB Pro) bar one: Explorer II Polar dial (#16570).

Man it feels good! I now have a ’one watch collection’.

I intend to enjoy my time with my fave watch ever.

However, I have to say that the hunt is a really fun part 😁

What would you do? Stick with the one? Or start a new hunt? What would you hunt for if you were in my position and only owned the above watch?

Looking forward to reading everyone’s thoughts!! 👊🏼

No, you don’t. You have a watch.

Aye - I find the term weird, too 😜

That is a great suggestion. I’ve actually not had to wear a suit with it but I can definitely see where you are coming from!

·

Good on ya man! I couldn't do it.

·

Good luck and that itch for a mew timepiece be far away in the future so there's more for me...heheheh.

·

Nice work 👍🏻

if I did that I’d be tempted to put a time boundary on really living the experience of just owning a single piece and journal about it, so I could write a blog at the end… say 180 days.

and then plan to buy the shit out of my local AD on day 181.

Stick with it 💪 you got everything you need there!! Maybe get a cool G-Shock or something if you need a beater.

You won't be more happy if you star accumulating watches again!

Many of us are secretly hoping to be a one watch guys. We admire people who have one watch that is really part of their identity and people remember them wearing.

So good for you if you can pull it off.

I sometimes play with the idea, but I find it hard to be contented with just one watch. I'm even strugling to bring my collection down to, say five watches. Alltough this is partly becouse I own a watch collection I can't really afford since the prices of watches have shot up. So I know if I sell something and regret it, I wont be able to replase it.

So I guess I'm stuck...😊

I know a few people in my close circles like this too - but I sometimes tell them that if they own the collection or does the collection own them?

At the end of the day I just saw my watches as very expensive toys and seeing them just sit there sometimes drove me bonkers.

Don't get me wrong it was v. difficult to sell them but honestly having parted ways I haven't looked back at all. I think the only one I would have majorly regretted was the one I kept!

Again...let's see how long this lasts 😂

Man that is awesome. Way to go sir, and one hell of a watch to do it with. Is it the drilled lug explorer II?

It's not - it's an 08 (my son's birth year) so no lug holes - would've been nice though!!

·

Wow, your sons birth year now that is bumped to heirloom status straight away. Well done man and congrats. I’ve always had a spot for the drilled lug polar personally but north year trumps that no question.

·

Honestly I’ve worn my Fxd in black tie and would do it again in a heart beat. The rules of convention don’t really apply the same as they once did. If you believe you can pull it off you can. Trust me a polar explorer is never out of place and needs no apology.

One watch....mmm...

Probably Speedmaster for me and that day is approaching,  my son and Grandsons will be given my watches not too far in the future.

·

For sure I do get that.

At the end of last year, I sold all my watches and bought a Grand Seiko quartz in order to get rid of the watch disease. This is the most versatile watch for all occasions, however, half a year later, due to YouTube, Instagram and watch forums, I again caught fire with the idea of buying a new watch. As a result, during next 3 months I bought three more watches and there are more on my radar. For myself, I concluded that in order to stop buying, it is necessary to refuse watch content, but for me it is simply impossible!

·

that’s a pretty idyllic solo watch, nice choice! Just for funsies, you could go crazy with straps first. Fitted rubber of all colors, a bund, all the natos, hell even jam on apples orange alpine strap haha

·

Great watch for a one watch "collection". If I had to sell my collection and keep one  it would likely be the 16570.
