I've recently found myself becoming infinitely infatuated by racing watches; Specifically, ones with panda dials. Think your breitling premieres, Hamilton intrimatic, or even orient panda, that deal.
I am looking for suggestions on other models or brands to look at when thinking about racing watches. I'd also be very interested in hearing your experience with owning a racing watch, or a specific one, and how you liked it.
I'm very excited to see what comes up!

If you’re looking into affordable racing pieces, I’d say the Straton Watch Company (https://www.stratonwc.com/collections/frontpage) is your first pit stop. They have mechaquartz and mechanical chronos with 70s vibes.
This microbrand’s most well-known model is the Speciale, but it was not as versatile in my eyes as the Comp Driver. First mechanical chrono for me, ETA 2894-2, great case finishing, cool design… great piece.
These aren't the most affordable. I come back to this brand quite frequently to see what Sarpaneva is cooking up.
I’ve got a few racing watches but these are my favourites.
Hamilton Pan Europ
Tissot Heritage 1973
TAG Heuer Carrera
Love the Hamilton Intra-Matic Chrono as well.
Just got an early Father’s Day present. Affordable. Fun. Conversation starter.

Absolutely beautiful, have you had any personal wrist time with many of them? How do the odd case shapes feel?

Three really amazing watches. Big fan of the Tissot. I've also been liking the Carrera recently. Have you handled both the three hands, and chronographs? How do they compare?
How about some mecha-quartz love?

As said, I only have the auto Comp Driver, and it feels very hefty on the wrist with its oversized case and steel bracelet. It can easily be put on a rally strap to bring the weight down. Despite the chunky proportions, it wears surprisingly well on wrist due to the short lug-to-lug and due to some tiny case undercuts on the backside of the case. The case back is very flat, so that helps keeping the watch well balanced on the wrist.
You’ll see what I’m meaning with these undercuts on this review: https://youtu.be/Ijwu8lFNLbU
I have exactly one racing watch, my Stuhrling Original Concorso Raceway, which is an homage of the Rolex Daytona ref. no. 116520.
I love my Stuhrling. First, because it was a gift from my wife on Valentine's Day, 2014. Secondly, because it looks super cool, and keeps great time! 😀 I have my Stuhrling on a creme & navy blue NATO strap. I wear it all the time, it's very comfortable, wears well, and on the NATO strap, it looks very sporty and chic, in my opinion. 😀
