Just figured watches were nice and got a cheap Casio. Then proceeded to form a bigger interest and now have a whole lot of watches.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Some random branded resin watch that I don't remember. Then I had a Huawei Watch, which I eventually quit using. The one I started collecting with is a Casio MW-240.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Most of my watches aren't anything ultra special. Apart from buying watches, I have also received some watches from family. The most interesting of those is my Camel Trophy watch.
Camel Trophy was a race event sponsored by the Camel cigarette brand and the Camel Trophy watches were promotional watches for that.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Don't bother worrying about what's popular or whatever. People don't care about watches all that much anyways and you have your own tastes. Get something that you like and that makes you happy. At least for me, watches are an expression of myself and what I like just like any other fashion.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Casio. With my recent acquisition of the LCW-M100TS and the Casio Royale and mod kit that I will hopefully receive soon, Casio is undoubtedly mostly on my mind atm.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Longines Conquest.
Not the most expensive grail watch ever, but nothing else has a design that speaks to me like this one.
