New Orient 40mm dive watches announced (Officially called Mako 40)

Orient announced a new line of smaller 200m dive watches. Powered by the Cal.F6722, a only date version for this particular lineup of divers.

Orient's product description:

This model brings a new dimension to the Diver design model*, which is popular both as a fashionable item and for wearing around town. Its new compact 39.9 mm case, makes it ideal for both men and women. With the smaller case comes a movement that shows only the date, as well as a simpler dial calendar display. Bars are used for the Luminous Light hands and indices that allow the time to be read even in the dark, lending a clean feel and creating a simpler, more visible dial layout. The simple, light feel of the design also extends to the shape of the right side of the case, where the crown guard usually sits but is deliberately omitted here, as well as the rotating bezel that is left uncoloured to showcase the texture of the steel. *Not an ISO standard diver’s watch.

The three models in black, navy blue and white will be available on a bracelet. And the two other models in the colours Lilac and Apricot will come on a leather nato strap.

I don't mind their logo. It works on their dress watches, a little detail in a very empty dial. But on their dive watches, definitely prefer just the name ORIENT like how SEIKO puts their name on the dial.

I like these a lot. Some of them are really channeling some Christopher Ward aesthetics.

A very nice set of divers to wear to the office for the week and to the beach for the weekend.

Dugong approves! Smack flippers for emphasis

the white dial one is calling me!!

·

I like the Purple dial 👌

·

I'm in for one, at street value not Orient's odd MSRP.

Need to see the salmon in real light tho. Wish they were doing an orange.

·

Looks great

·

These look great! I’m glad they’re finally coming out with an affordable diver that has 20mm lug width 🤩

·

Thanks for the update @nightfury95 👍

I'll keep my eyes on the white and the apricot ones 👌

·

I really like the steel bezels 👍

The salmon dial does look fantastic. I love salmon dials. And not many people know this, but on the eighth day, after He was finished resting, God realized man would need a way to keep track of time, so He created the salmon dial wristwatch. And He found it Very Good. It was so good in fact, that He said, "I think I'll make a fish that color!"

You took us on a long walk for that one 🤣

And I'm sorry you can't get the time back, no matter how furiously you turn your watch's hands backwards.

·

Nice lineup.

The hands and the dial itself are a bit on the plain side I think…

I guess I still prefer my Kamasu over these.

As someone who’s in the market for an affordable white-dial diver, I’m excited

·

Very clean design; almost looks like one of their Orient Star divers with the stick hands, but just smaller. I like the naked steel bezel. And quite different from the Kamasu.

·

The white dial one looks so nice and clear

·

Do we know when this is releasing in the USA?

Do we know when this is releasing in the USA?

These are out in August for Asian market followed by Europe. Can expect in October for US if the release pattern is similar to Mako 3.

·

Thank you for info! I love the navy diver and the white one.

·

Anyone got an update on the release date, UK in particular?

·

They are now available on the UK Orient site with 25% off until end of July
