Homage or just copycats?

Even better than the real thing.

They are glorified replicas, but they do not even try to hide it. For the money, have at it. If they last a month, at least you didn’t have much invested.

I got fed up with Rolex AD superiority complex attitude, and ended up trying Pagani Design.  GLAD I DID!  All I wanted from Rolex and their useless AD network was a damn ‘Palm motif’ Datejust.  Impossible.  The whole of Rolex can’t just put a watch in a store so I could just walk in and buy a watch.

My first Pagani was more than acceptable, especially given the price point.  Accuracy was about plus two seconds a day for about a hundred bucks versus $15k on the Rolex scalpers market (and forget buying at an AD without the run around and games).  I liked the Pagani so much, I decided to buy another FIVE, and forget EVER CONSIDERING buying a Rolex.  I now have Pagani versions of every Rolex I might have bought.  After having the Pagani watches, Rolex is a dead end for me.  Too many BS games and hoops, and frankly the watches from Rolex just aren’t as good as luxury competitors- especially Omega and the coaxial movements.

I think that is better to buy cheap watches with their own identity.

To "steal" a design is not fair for those who work on it, I am a designer so to see a copy of my own design would not please me.

I would not call them homage but copies, I have nothing against taking inspiration from other models even to change small things or details, change the watch.

I've no experience with Pagani, or any of the companies selling copies. That said, the Rolex designers aren't losing a penny, or any sleep over cheap copies sold by the likes of Pagani. 

My only caution would be that Pagani is likely too cheap to be good, San Martin, Tactical Frog, or Chronos are likely a better bet based on what I have seen online. 

Nothing is 100% original.

And even watches that take heavy inspiration from other brands, not a problem. They spent the time to design and improve it and create something new for customers. 

Pagani couldn't even take 5 minutes to make their own name. They stole the name of a car company and then added the word design which is stupid because they don't design anything. They make cheap rip offs.

I have no idea what the quality is like, but the brand is worse than garbage.

I'd rather wear a dried dog poo on a string. 😅

I'm not sure if they have any original designs, but even if they did I'd be embarrassed to wear the fake name.

I have very mixed feelings. I think they are better than fake (so called "replica") watches, however naming the company after a high-end super-sports car manufacturer, which is named after the surname of its founder feels very cheesy. 

But the build quality is great, especially for the price. If the branding was different and designs are a little bit original, it would become one of my favorite brands.  

I agree with you. I think some AliExpress watches are really worth the money but some are just a waste of money.

I do see where you come from. Some of the other brands do offer better watches.

I 100% agree. By saying they are largely replicas, it isn’t a knock on value, just creativity. As others stated, no one is not buying a Rolex, Omega, etc because they have a Pagani Design. In my view, they are a great way to try a lot of looks for almost no money and a better alternative than an over priced fashion watch (MVMT). Even with MVMT, any thing that gets people interested in watches is cool.

I’ve only had the first for a few months.  No problems yet.  But given the information I’ve seen the Seiko NH35 movements are generally well regarded and have proven track records I don’t expect problems.  I did notice that on PD watches that have rotating bezels that they are a bit looser than my Omegas.  Not a big deal to me given the price point.  Overall I am happy with the PD watches I purchased and would buy them again.
