Fake rolex

I believe this is a fake daytona. But i’m not 100% sure. Is this a fake or a real, and what are some flaws you notice that makes it fake?

Step one is where did you buy this solid gold Daytona?

My friend found it in a container with some unopened luxury fragrances.

The indexes are out of proportion and in the picture the 210 on the tackymeter looks a bit wonky.

True true. Do you know the reference number of the watch?

Hilarious 😂😂😂😂

Am I being too picky in thinking the sub-dial gold is way coppery and if this were all gold like it should be that this wouldn't be? The case and bracelet seem tarnished to an extent that looks to lack the color and luster one would expect.

Yeah that’s exactly what i thought as well. I believe the subdials are supposed to be more goldish

I am not sure about the watch sorry, but the Heinz looks 100% authentic.

Cover it with ketchup and hit it with a hammer.

If the broken movement is by Rolex then it's probably real.

The old "friend found it" story....😂

Yeah, it takes a special person to lose track of a gold Daytona, so . . . your first instinct is probably right. If it's too good to be true etc. etc.

Obvious fake IMO. Oh where to start...

  • The "Oyster" bracelet looks like ass (and not in a good way)! The yellow "gold" color on the outside links has faded to a silvery tone where physical contact would be made with surfaces. This is a telltale sign that an underlying metal (probably stainless steel) has been electro-plated or chemically plated with another metal. It's probably brass plated.

  • The bracelet's center links should be highly polished but look just as brushed as the outside links on parts of the bracelet (looking at the top part of the picture).

  • Subdials: for precious metal Daytonas, if the subdials are done in precious metal then so are the subdial rings. In this example, the rings are black. The inner subdial is "rose gold" (more likely copper) whereas the watch case and bracelet are yellow "gold" (more likely brass);

  • The lines indicating time increments are "off" mostly notably in the 30-sec subdial where every 4th line should be noticeably longer and the others should appear to "float" in the middle of the subdial ring

  • The lettering font for 5 lines of text on the dial and the numbers in the subdial are all off.

  • The shade of lume on the hour & minute hands appears to be whiter than the lume for the markers. Whether Super Luminova or Rolex's proprietary Chromalight, the shade of lume should be uniform.

  • When you hold a solid gold watch in your hand you know it just by weight!
