My Tissot Seastar started showing some issues in the unidirectional bezel ,so I thought let me remove it and do some cleaning to resolve this problem . As I started removing the bezel and noted that it got distorted and bent . Seeing this shocked me since this never happened with any Seiko I worked on before . I also noted that the steel grade Tissot used to manufacture the bezel is a low grade steel that is closer to normal iron than steel or maybe Aluminium . The bezel now is useless and the ceramic insert doesnt fit naturally .
Tissot I am very disappointed . A watch that was marketed as a heavy duty professional dive watch must be made tough and the Seastar 2000 is not .

I thought I should since its a fairly new release
I made the same mistake with a very hard to rotate bezel on my Seiko. I tried taking my bezel out and scratched the case. Later on I found out putting good amount of dish soap and warmed water helped the issue on many of my watches. Yeah I can understand the disappointment my diver was pretty new still no abuse.😭
Buggered the bezel insert on my Seiko Willard, tried to age it with bleach. Big mistake. No aftermarket available, back to Seiko & £80 repair bill....🤦🏻♂️

Scratching the case is expected with the tools we use . But a bezel that is warped under pressure is a manufacture quality issue

I have other better watches . Not worth spending more money on .
Never would have expected such an outcome from a model like this, quite surprising.
Is there a way to replace the bezel?

Isnt that pretty much the cost of the watch? Or am i missing something?

No - wish it was, my favourite Seiko's & I'm aiming to get them all .....
I paid around £1000 for my Black Willard (spb151) & bit less for my (undamaged) Green Willard (spb153).
Imho the around £1000 is Seiko's sweet spot - sapphire, 6r's, diashield 👍
Bi-directional bezel? Sounds like an issue from the get go.
I wonder if the seastar 1000 has the same issue. 🤔

Thank you for pointing that out . I corrected it . My watch is now non directional lol

I hope I don't find out

Time to go back to Seiko
Time to go back to Seiko
I have a big collection of Seiko watches
well that sucks...
How long have you had it?
Demand that they fix the issue
I'm not surprised, really. I like Tissot, and own one of their quartz chronographs - but their build quality is not up to snuff. I was really considering a SeaStar, but went with a Steinhart instead. I think the quality is VASTLY better.
the bezel on my seastar leaves much to be desired
do not think it would handle being pried off well
like the watch overall
but wouldn't get another

You can order from a Tissot dealer ! I regularly order original straps, bracelets and hands in order to do experiments with colors and combinations.

I was disappointed with the material used to manufacture the rotating bezel . It seems aluminum or low grade steel is used . It bends on impact or some applied force . I hammered the bezel back to form and reinstalled it on the watch . I gave it to my son , he is happy with it .
Is there a way to replace the bezel?
I searched ebay couldn't find any . The Tissot website doesn't sell them either . You'll have to go through the dealership which will order it for you .
I wear this watch. only issue I had was that after 2+ years, the stem/tube threads stripped, so I had it serviced. I'm normally good with screw-in crowns but must have cross-threaded this one at some point. Repair was excellent, i'm wearing the watch today.
I haven't tried to pry off the bezel. Had I encountered the issue you did, I would have gone to the local watch repair place and had him look at it, clean it and perhaps change the spring insert underneath.
If anything with a watch requires significant force, that's probably a good time to stop and re-assess.
