I have been collecting watches for the last 15+ years. The first mechanical watch that I bought was a swatch diaphane automatic, and I remember when vintage Rolex watches were cheap. I have grown really bored of following the "watch community" and its constant flex and toxicity on Instagram and Facebook. I miss the days when a half-blurry watch picture was the norm for acceptable content.

Welcome to the crew. I think you’ll find the vibe here more
and less IG and FB-ness. Love the Breitling.

Bon jour! I was in Paris a few weeks ago, and enjoyed checking out the local watch scene and French manufacturers. I couldn't find a specific Yema (one nice dealer said he sold one a week prior), but didn't want enough to order it online.
What are your thoughts on French brands?
They are affordable, with fun design, but often not too much happening behind the dial. Vintage LIPs chrono are great though. I used to own a vintage Mach 2000, and I do miss it...
