Is it real or fake

Some guy sells these hamiltons and I'm trying to find some specifics but I can't find the relevant watch anywhere. In the ad, the name is mentioned as Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba, but all these watches I've have find so far has applied dot indices instead of numbers on the dial. I even doubt it whether they real or fake so if you guys and/or gals have any knowledge about this watch or links to any shop who sells these please share. I've checked on chrono24 but all I can find there is the one with dot indices

I just found what looks to be your watch for sale on Catawiki. Box and papers included.

I would never, ever buy a watch from “some guy”! Very dodgy sounding. 😒

Amazing, thanks a lot Jamie, the price is way better compared to one I've find (just for the record, price of the one I've find is 749€) my only concern is whether they real or fake but it's a relief to know that there are more of this exact model 🍻

You are welcome Martin. Do bear in mind that Catawiki is an auction site so the price you see today will most likely not be the end price. This particular auction still has 5 days to go.

I know, I have concerns about it because even that website is also known for advertising various scams often, that's why I thought I'd ask more about this watch on this site. If I was gonna buy them then only in person, but after @Stroud_Green sent a link to the same watch only from another country, I would undoubtedly choose his reference

Thanks Graham 🍻

I'm at work right now so I don't have much time to dig into it but soonest I come home I will. I have never purchased anything from Catawiki so it will take me some time to figure out all the details around it. I do appreciate your time Jamie 🍻🍻

Thanks Graham 🍻

It has a colour matched day and date, whereas your picture did not but I couldn’t easily find one identical to yours; something to bear in mind.

That's exactly what I was thinking, because if they were original, there would be a lot more of them on the web 🍻

There is one with that colour day date (H64545153) but I could find a model that mixed the two (doesn’t mean it didn’t exist possibly I just couldn’t find it).

Now given that OEM parts exist to produce such a watch, it could easily arise from modding choices or repairs.

Personally I think the matched day date wheels look much better so I can’t see why you would do it unless the black wheels were unavailable or significantly more expensive?

The reference number helped a lot, thanks again Graham. I found other pieces as well but all only with the black background of the day and date. I don't understand how he got his watch with white day and date. Maybe I could call him and ask about it directly, but since it's not from a very reliable website, I'm a little worried about so I don't get caught in some scam. Or could it be some limited edition perhaps? Anyway, I like the matching background as well and considering that there are two more pieces selling for half of his price I would probably lean towards them

If this is a fake, they got the lack of AR coating spot on 🤣.

Not hating, here’s the Hammy I’m wearing today.

Cool, I didn't know that such a detail can be detected from a photo like AR

Yours look spectacular 😍😍🍻

Wow is that site legit? I don’t see Hamilton pilot watches.

The site is legit, but many times scams are advertised on it, although I wouldn't worry too much about it because I could go and see that watch in person, he asking €749 for it, and it seems to me like an excessive price

·

That’s best bet to check it out in person too much scam going on.

I'll see over couple of weeks, perhaps even months if he will still have them, (I just have to go through season of uncle Sam) usually the watches on that site are overpriced and therefore they don't sell often. I may offer him aprx 500 - 550 as an estimated price according to experts goes by. Although the desire to own that watch is strong I wouldn't mind if he sells it to me or not

·

It does looks nice and solid yeah if they asking for too much I wouldn’t.
