Watch journey 2024 UPDATE ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ›ฉ

Hello gals and gyus, I thought I share some quick pictures of @Mr.Santana watch creation as it arrived today to me. Actually it was a two hours running from one Custom official to an other one lol. I must admit that although I was running out of time bc I needed to get myself to work it has been an exceptional experience to explain each officer what this watch is about. They simply couldn't get the point that it's isn't about money but rather pure fun. I'm admitting that they were friendly but explaining five different people the same story gets really boring ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Anyway, the watch is with me for now untill I get the message from @benandwatch with further instructions. Btw, I think that I'd got away with it at customs pretty easy with 11,70โ‚ฌ for duties compared to what I heard else where.

So let me share the surprising feeling of this watch. First impression is magic, I seen this lovely piece many times on pictures here at WC but I'm sure enough that none of the picture does it justice, it's way more nicer on live and that blue case is outstanding. Bezel is also way different then I thought it will be. It does feel very luxurious and pleasant. The other interesting surprise I experienced is the lume when I pulled into dark garage.

Unbelievable, very well done Skyler, you have an excellent taste for watch building. Honestly I haven't yet find time to check on that crown but in upcoming days I hopefully do so. I didn't even set the time yet ๐Ÿ˜Š so far run approximately 3 hours late but thats a part of the fun I guess ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿป

So finally I got to the overall point of the watch journey and let me introduce you a little the city where this watch is right now. Bratislava, Slovakia is one of the EU countries, city itself is from my point of view nice with rich history. You can easily find your way in the city with English and German language as many people speak additional languages. Hungarien is also popular with part of the community. Official language is Slovak and that's about all I know about this town. All the other popular topics can be find via Wikipedia if someone is interested. Here are some of the promised pictures and hopefully I'll get some more chance to do some nicer ones. Most of them was pictured from the car so if I get to the mountains with in week or two while the watch is at my possession I'll do some nicer pictures. Very likely some pictures will be done in Vienna, Austria as that city is very close to Bratislava

This is Hainburg an der Donau, when you crossing the town you have to drive under that building, it is a very nice town in Austira, close to the Slovak border

This is the Bratislava castle from a distance and from one of the bridges over the Danube river

The city tries to preserve greenery wherever possible because, like all cities, there is a lot of concrete here

And this is a modern face of the city from a distance with a TV antena on the hill on the other picture

PS: I apologize for my English language if you happened to find some mistakes but Im posting this in a rush and don't have much time left to double check on google translator ๐Ÿ˜Š

Stay tuned for update ๐Ÿ˜‰

With love

-------- Update --------

D - Day for Skyler's travel watch

Before I received the watch @Mr.Santana gave me a green ligth to check and if possible to fix the nonresponding crown. The problem was a short stem and crown have been responding properly, the only issue was that when I tried to screw the crown back into case, the stem continuingly turned the hands as it was short. I happened to have some spare stems for NH35 so I successfully exchanged it. Here are some pictures from the "surgery" ๐Ÿ˜

Image

Opening the caseback went smootly although I thing that it was screwed into case more tightly then needed but at least it does help to ensure WR ๐Ÿ˜Š

Shocking moment as I opend the watch was that dust and dirt and even one tiny hair (probably the custom's duty official hair after detailed analazing lol) sad how quickly this watches collects all those unnecessary nuisance.

Obviously I couldn't leave it there so some air and rodico fixed that quickly. I forgot to take to picture as I was occupied with that stem. Anyway, all went smootly and now although not perfect but the crown does the job as it's intended. One thing I didn't noticed on the watch was that custom caseback, I had to take a shot of this because its really lovely.

Image

I don't know if it's readable as my camera is not the best one on the market but it says @Mr.Santana @benandwatch and WatchCrunch. Very nice.

An other issue I noticed today morning that I ser the time yesterday on top notch second and on the morning I noticed that its three minutes ahead so I also double checked the magnetizm (I don't know how to spell this word) with my little magic compass and ola that was the issue. Easy fix as I done it on my watches few times already.

One more issue what I noticed on this watch when I received it was the misaligned 12th hour dot on the bezel insert. So I thought I will have a look when I'll open the watch but everything seems right inside so I don't really think I can help with this one. I took some pictures because I just don't understand how is that even possible to be nicely aligned at 3 6 and 9 o'clock but not 12. I'm really lost at this. Anyway, here are the shots

And now 12th hour

Can someone explain it? Well, this much so far with travel watch and now the watch is resting and passionately waiting for next participant.

Hopefully meantime I will be able to upload some more pictures. Stay safe and enjoy the hobby ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿป

Thank you Paul, I just set the time on the watch and I see what Skyler meant with the unstable crown. I'll have a look at it when I have a little more time.

Chopok is great, both in summer and in winter, I'm there two or three times a year, at the cottage under Chopok ๐Ÿป

It's not my watch but I think that @Mr.Santana just got me motivated to build myself one of this watches, it does feel very exceptional ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿป

I love your watch! It is so unique and awesome! I love the second hand, how cool it is! No need to apologize for your English! I have to say I am embarrassed that after traveling to Europe and seeing most people speak multiple languages is so amazing! Again, please don't apologize. You are doing great!!
