Tudor's perfect 39mm Submariner

I know many of you claim that the 2024 W&W Tudor 41mm is the new "Submariner", but honestly - the Pelagos 39mm is indeed the real modern "Tudor Submariner". The dial is printed "PELAGOS" in red, but hat is a fun artifact. The rest of the watch design just screams a modern take on the Tudor "SUBMARINER!"

Couldn’t agree more. I love mine 👍

This watch is beyond perfection!

·

Love this watch and plan to own one in the future.

·

Reviewed it, felt like a toy. Disappointing in the metal for me.

·

Just not a titanium watch guy. Would love to see new 41 with square markers… so if you’re listening Tudor please give me what I want. 😂

·

For that matter, the Pelagos being in red is, in itself, a nod to the Red Line Subs.

·

I agree the new Monochrome BB 58 does not at all give me Submariner vibes at all, the Pelagos definitely strikes me as as the Tudor modern Sub equivalent - why the BB 54, BB 58, and BB 41 strike me more of retro Tudor/Rolex dive watch model lines.

How does titanium handle scratches?

·

Titanium can be just too lightweight.

Do you have other titanium watches you like, with this one as a particular disappointment, or do you have this feeling about titanium in general as a lighter metal?

Completely agree, the matte black bezel adds to that toy like look. I know many people are a big fan of the Pelagos line, but it has always felt like a few thousand dollars worth of meh to me.

·

Man, it really looks great!!

·

Totally agree!!! That is the next watch on my list.

·

Absolutely beautiful.

Despite all the hypes about Pelagos, I have yet to appreciate titaniums, too light for my liking. Additionally, the matte dial is simply too plain, this is nowhere near the bright-shiny character of Rolex Submariner.

·

If only it wasn't titanium!! Just feels nasty. Damn shame, love it otherwise.

Huh? "Pelagos...The matte dial is simply too plain, this is nowhere near the bright-shiny character of Rolex Submariner."

The Rolex Submariner is deep black, whilst the dial of the P39 is indeed sunburst. ;)

A review is just click bait on YT. In order to understand and appreciate a certain watch, one must wear it for months. No watch is perfect - but neither is a watch bad in every way and variable.

Many watch enthusiasts want a watch that is lightweight on the wrist. I used to be in the camp that "I need to feel the heft of a wrist watch" - but has since then moved on to appreciate smaller AND lightweight watches.

this watch is so damn nice!

But titanium is not my cup of tea when it comes to watches.

if this would be steel i’d buy it in a heartbeat!
