Tudor copying Rolex from yester years? A Submariner worn on an original Rolex 62510H jubilee bracelet

I know a Submariner is often worn on an Oyster bracelet, and that is fine, but in the (good) old days some Submariners were delivered to customers on an original Rolex 62510H jubilee - if the client was inclined to prefer that combo.

The funny part is that Tudor during W&W 2024 offer the 41mm BB in monochrome on both their 3-link and 5-link bracelets.

In other words, Tudor just started to offer what Rolex offered their customers donkey years ago.

How about that?

I personally kinda yawn at Tudor releases. Killing the North Flag, Tudor Advisor, Fast Rider/ Black Shield. Then just releasing just another color or size seems they taking a page out of Rolex. They will still sell like crazy but I don't know why the hype.

Tudor make great watches as Rolex do but as the latters prices are out of most people’s reach at least Tudors are achievable and you can actually buy them

I don't think the price is out of reach, it's the availability 😅

Never seen a sub on a jubilee looks more classy

·

That's what Tudor do best 👍

·

Those cuff links though 😍

·

I have Oyster, Jubilee and Presidents bracelets. NOTHING is more comfortable than a Jubilee!

·

That is very much what Tudor does pretty much all around, and I thank them for it.

·

That looks absolutely drop dead gorgeous! I've tried to like having a jubilee bracelet on my steel sports watches and have tried it on some of my Rolexes. I just can't do it. I'm an oyster bracelet dude! Is this the Tudor watch you're talking about? If so, this is very attainable at just shy of $6K. Just hoping that there's no waiting list or background checks required LOL 🤣😂

I love jubilee bracelets … you’ve just inspired me to try it on my OP … maybe it’ll give it new life

·

Pretty cool! I could be wrong, but I think those were not issued with the sub. Think it was an add on. Made to fit 20mm.

Tried it on at Watches & Wonders and I really liked it. It feels “right.”

The Advisor is so unique. It's in my "Someday" list.

I mean, it’s like saying Toyota borrowed from Lexus 😂 love the bracelet though 👏

What do you mean? You’re in the UK right? Last years W&W releases were all stacked in shop windows by summer no shortages. Same will happen this year.

·

Do yo know Tudor is the baby brother of Rolex?

·

I’ll be honest, I like Tudor for what it is: the testing ground for Rolex. It’s the safe route but it also means Tudor is bolder then Rolex. Which I truly enjoy!

All that aside, am I the only one that zoomed in on the cuff links😋

Is it crazy I prefer Tudor over rolex

·

I don't think Rolex ever offered that in the way Tudor does that today. There just was a time when Rolex was an end customer oriented company. They would deliver watches how the people liked them. E.g. they would equip Submariners with Jubilee bands or put Submariner clasps on the GMTs' and Explorer IIs' 78760 bands in the early 90s before they got a flip lock with the 78790 even if it meant making a "franken watch". These days are over. Today you're not supposed to actually like the watch and it isn't meant to fit you and be comfortable, you're supposed to buy what they tell you and feel honored because of the branding/status.

Tudor is better, they give some options are aren't as much about flexing. I suppose the goal is to get rid of all the Rolex customers who are actually in it for the watches and move them down to Tudor. But even Tudor won't sell you a BB58 on a Ranger bracelet. It's a strange way of doing business but it seems to be working. In conclusion though, I don't think Tudor is offering was Rolex used to, i.e. a customer oriented service, but merely a few more options for enthusiasts which isn't the same.

Only reason I clicked on the post... Rolex (Ok)... Cuff links (Woah!) This is a man of taste! 🧐🎩💎

·

Well that IS different. And I wouldn't have thought I'd like it...but I really DO!

Because it looks like the other company but is a significant margin more attainable at a much better cost
