Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300 First Impressions

Hello friends! On Tuesday, I received notice from CW that my C60 Trident Pro 300 had shipped. Amazingly, 2 days later it made it across the pond to my doorstep in rural America!

Full disclosure, I ordered this watch almost expecting to be underwhelmed. YouTube reviewers are famous for over hyping watches, but hey, the 60/60 guarantee gave me piece of mind that I could return it if I didn’t like it.

The watch lives up to the hype! The quality and finishing of the case is top notch. Light catch, it does. The exhibition caseback, besides looking great, allows the watch to sit smoothly on wrist (similar to how the Seamaster does) without any friction at all.

The bracelet is better than I expected. Smoother and more buttery than the price point would indicate. Not Omega or Rolex buttery, but in the ballpark. The bracelet is looong. Took out two more links than I normally do, but once out and with the micro-adjustment, fits perfectly. Clasp seems quality and looks great. It’s not too long like YouTube reviewers say.

Dial is well finished and the applied indexes throw a lot of light too, while being easy to read. The trident second hand is a nice touch and just looks cool. The additional minute markers on the outer ring not only look good but give added legibility. I particularly like the new logo at the 12 and the date at the 6 give it symmetry.

The real star of the show is the rubber strap I ordered. I love quick release straps and changing it out takes about 60 seconds. It looks great and fits my wrist perfectly. Many straps don’t, I seem to have an in between wrist size for straps.

I’m surprised with how light it is on the bracelet and it’s even lighter on the strap.

Lume is awesome… the Lume picture below is after about ten minutes in the evening sun.

Negatives… none quite yet. The “30” on the bezel doesn’t seem to perfectly line up with the 30 minute marker, but that could just be my OCD.

For reference, this watch is 40mm, 47.45mm lug to lug and a slim 11.3mm height on my 6.5” wrist.

Hope you enjoyed my first impressions of what seems to be a pretty impressive watch!

Ah yes! I would say better cos I never touched explorer 2 before.

But I like the look and feel! And it helps when it looks like one GS hahaha.

Congrats! Nice one.

I received my CW C63 Sealander last Wednesday, was pleasantly surprised by overall quality and finishing as well. Indeed value for money.
