I am new to watch collecting but I have a long history of collecting musical instruments. Even though you always try to rationalize your ideal collection (I need X and Y and Z), this is just a trick your mind pulls out to deal with complexity. You will never be satisfied with what you have. If I may, try to focus on the process more than the outcome, and I think you will find that all the research, the desire, the excitement of acquiring a new piece... are what actually makes this fun.
