Bell and Ross BR05

Does anyone have any experience / time on the wrist with the Bell and Ross BR05 series? I am looking into getting one if the new GMT releases. I tried one on recently and had a great first impression.

My big issue with B&R is that they tend to be overpriced for what you get -- in this case, you're getting an ETA 2893-2/SW330-1 movement, which is a caller GMT at a higher list price than something like a Black Bay GMT which has a traveller's GMT movement for $1,500 less.

Great point. I have a family friend who is a dealer and I typically get a good discount on anything he represents....but I will now look again at the black bay GMT. Thanks Jbird.

I don't own one but tried one on recently and similar to you, was also impressed. The BR05 is sleek and elegant yet sporty. I am a big fan.

I tried the BB GMT last week (again) and it really is a chunk of a watch. Definitely a pass for me.

Thanks Admit, I also found the BB a little too chunky when I tried it on about a year or so ago.

I have this bro3 ceramic diver got it at a good discount, really like it ,easy to read and accurate

I love B&R design language and think they all look unique, but cannot justify spending that much money on a fairly basic off-the-shelf movement that most appear to have.

I've owned two Bell & Ross watches. Okay watches if you buy pre-owned. Resale is terrible

I didn’t pass, I still like it a lot, but damn it’s a chunky boy!

I have BR3. It’s a pretty good watch, decent quality and very recognizable, nothing to complain.

I saw BR5 at W&W, didn’t try it on. Looks pretty cool though. If you really want I’d suggest pre-owned. (I was young and foolish when I bought at AD 😞)

I wish I could try one on from the 05 series, I think they look amazing. What people tend to miss with these models is that you aren’t really paying for specs, but rather for the unique design and branding. San Martin makes a decent looking homage, so it may be worth looking into trying one of those on before committing to the real deal. Not sure how close the dimensions are to the real deal, and you would likely have to resell it at a loss, but it could give you an idea of if you would like the B&R or not. I believe the San Martin goes for around $300 USD.

There is the homage if you are interested in checking it out before spending the big bucks.

I tried on the BR05 at an AD today. I went for the blue dial and blue rubber strap. I love it. It fit like a dream. I was worri d it would be too big for my 6.75 inch wrist but it wasn't. The Rubber strap was very soft and high quality with a great deployant clasp. The movement is nothing special, but you have to decide how much that matters to you. The watch is very well made. I am seriously thinking about buying the watch in the future.
