Timex Expedition North Titanium or Hamilton Khaki Field

Hi All

I am considering the above options as a field watch - was just wondering pros and cons for each.

TIA

Both are automatic, the Timex is far cheaper, but the Hamilton has a better movement. I do like that the Timex is titanium, and I love the textured dial on the Timex. It all comes down to personal preference, though, and if you are looking for a more "prestige" brand or not.

I'd likely lean Timex, it has the better specs apart from movement.

Both are great. I would get the Hamilton, but there is a significant price difference there.

A good review

Cheers!

Hamilton no doubt

As someone who isn’t too fussed about movements I’d go Timex. A mechanical titanium field watch at that price is tough to beat. I’m a bit of a Titanium nut though.

I prefer the design aesthetic of Timex, including their numerals, which are iconic to their brand.

Agree, Timex has better specs other than the movement. But the movement isn't junk, just not Swiss. And Timex does have a steel case in 36mm with better specs than Hamilton.

confirming we're talking about this one?

Specs are really strong for the price point...I was looking at this and a Hamilton Titanium...but my next purchase is the SWC Bunker in Dark grey

Timex vs boldr venture?

Timex vs boldr venture?

It depends on what you want to do with it. The Boldr has better water resistance (200m compared to 100m for the Timex). I like the fact that the Boldr has a screw-down crown. The movements are about the same, maybe a little better with the Miyota movement in the Boldr. Both would be a good choice.
