If you've ever done this, you're a watch geek too!

My partner says I have a watch problem. I didn't think I did until one day while shopping used watches I pulled out my phone and put a "refurbished" watch on the Timegrapher app on my phone. The line dipped and dotted all the way to -40 sec a day. The look on her face said everything in an instant. Glad she lives me, because that was not sexy - it was full on geek time!

Then I got the Glycine Combat Sub a fee weeks back I showed her the difference. I don't think I've ever had a watch out of the box with these results.

Edit: App is "Watch Accuracy Meter" in the Google Playstore.

The store wasn't too noisy. But I just layed the watch flat and sat my phone on top of it. The reading in the pic, was at home tho. Lol!

·

Haha well-played. I had a hell of a time trying to get that app to work on my phone, I eventually uninstalled it. I'm sure that I was using it wrong 😑

·

You have to get the timegrapher at home first and get her use to seeing you testing watches at home. Then when you pull it in public and do it the action will have been desensitized 😅

Nope, never have done that

Nice

·

Nope, never saw this app, and didn't have more than 50 results of every watch i touched. :)

Rolex always had the best results, but orient is a big surprise. Seiko is always underachiever. Don't ask me how i know

·

I have collected watches almost my entire adult life, joined WC earlier this year in the summer, quickly realizing that it might be time to either move on from my longtime hobby or the Crunch. Lol.

·

Im not usually too bothered about accuracy as I rotate daily but having worn the same watch for a week I was impressed by it's accuracy. The app agrees 👍

I also found this app few days ago and was amazed by the result of my JLC Memovox made in 60s! But I guess this app is not super accurate.

I use the same app! I do find that it reads better with the back off the case so the app can "hear" best

·

Sorry but I never done it before 🤣🤣🤣

It's from this nh35 build I did for a friend

·

That’s so funny!

·

I have the app on my personal phone and my work cell phone. It does not work the best on my personal phone. I went cheap. That could be the reason. Not the best mic.

·

I was today-years-old when I learned this was something that could be done with a phone app. Amazing. Thanks!

Side note... I always suspected I got a unicorn 4R36 and have something to confirm that now.
