What happened to that dial? Sorry, I have to ask.
What is the diameter of your dial? What are lengths of hands are you using? I assume you are using NH35 movement. When you ordered the hands, were they specifically for that movement? Different movements require different hole sizes.
Finally, putting on a second hand at the end is always a struggle. Good magnification is a key here. Sometimes it just goes on with no problems. And sometimes you need to take a deep breath, say a few choice words, and maybe even step away from the project for a while. Then try it again.

I ran into a similar problem a couple of weeks ago. I was building a GMT watch with NH34 movement. I initially tried a 31mm dial, but the hands were too long. So, I changed the case and used a 35mm dial and everything fit perfectly.

What I see a lot are 13mm minute hands that are about 0.5mm too long for some cases. I wish more case suppliers would publish "dial opening" diameters. I normally change the hands and keep the dial in these situations.

I was going to do it like you said, but I already had a bigger case and I was trying to make my own dial, so I made it a little bigger. Waiting for new hands was going to delay me another 2 - 3 weeks and did not want to wait.

Okay, that is surely an option if you are making your own dial. I've come to the conclusion that for me it is better to wait, and maybe work on two projects, in order to avoid compromises. If wood sprites in Japan take a month to make the dial and ship it, then so be it. I also buy watch hands in multiples in case I might need them.
