I have been doing some research on Carl F Bucherer.
They have an interesting history. Most people may know them as the type of watch worn in the movie “John Wick”. In addition to these movies they have some sharp designs and they are starting to use Peripheral Rotor movements in their watches that they helped to refine.
They are also partners in FHH. (Foundation Haute Horologique) FYI….There are currently only 40 watch partners in this Foundation. I think they might be a bit overlooked in terms of their quality in the luxury watch market. It’s my understanding they have a larger presence in Asia but they recently got purchased by Rolex so I suspect Rolex will do what they do best to help re-brand Carl F. Bucherer.
My re-engagement into watches 2 years ago started with a watch I had that didn’t work. So repaired it and gave it to my son. As searched for repair videos I just started to see more watches and started to appreciate the design and historical of watches.
Teddy Baldassarre older’s videos really go deep into the evolution and breakdown of watches if your interested.
I just also recently stumbled into a website called Foundation Haute Horologerie. It’s a great resource in terms of the cultural impact of watches and can provide resources for an in-depth look of horology. (Link is below)
