2nd opinion from my fellow crunchers

Hello Fellow Crunchers! Reaching out to owners/experts of VC watches. The pics attached are a friends watch they wanted me to look at to see if it’s a real VC watch. It appear fake to me for a for reasons.

-No serial# on or inside the case back.

-Doesn’t appear to be the style of a VC overseas

-No cross above the VC logo

-Buckle on strap is not in the shap of a cross

-I suspect a real VC strap doesn’t have “genuine leather” stamped on it.

-Strap looks very flimsy

-Plastic insert in the movement

-No serial # or markings on the movement

-The suspect this may be a Tanjin movement?

For those VC experts please let me if this sounds correct and if I am missing something? Or maybe I’m just dead wrong if this is the real thing? Cheers and have a great day or evening wherever you live 🙏.

It's definitely not a real VC. My eyes tell me that. I also would bet he did not pay real VC prices. That is always my first question. What did he pay and where did he buy?

·

I not exactly sure how much they paid probably nor much.(Maybe $100-$200 USD) It belonged to my friends husband who just passed away. He would run estate cleanouts and I suspect he found it there? Thanks for the confirmation. I suspected when I first saw this but I wanted to double check.

Sorry to say it's a fake.

It was probably bought aboard, turkey or the far East. It seems to be a cheap version knock-off.

There are really good fakes out there these days and it's incredibly difficult to tell them apart.

This one however is a bad knock-off.

Lend your friend a hammer.

Tell him to use it on the fake watch.

That is so spank I can hear the slap from here…

That movement is an absolute disgrace, the finishing is very low grade, and no markings. The caseback is cheap as hell.

What one? 😂

Sorry for the laugh but never have I ever seen TWO automatic movements inside ONE watch.

An obvious fake I'm afraid.

Absolutely love all of the comments 😂! I have been collecting watches for just over year but I was astounded myself. I appreciate all of the input. Honestly I could believe what I was seeing so and I needed this group to be my soundboard. I don’t have too many people close to me that are watch people.

Wow, what a terrible fake 🙄

Never seen double movement in same case... Watch should have a perpetual calendar complication because of subdials but movements are no name low quality...
