2020 Zelos Skyraider 2

This is the Skyraider 2 Ti Teal. She is 58 of 75 of this one variant and others are less than 50. I've been hunting this bad boy for sometime now. These are my grail watches and I happy to have it in my watch box.

This watch sends me back to my youth in the 60s. My parents gave me a Timex and I loved putting that watch to my ear and listening to the heartbeat of that movement. I think the best part is winding up this little gem. That feel of those clicks as it winds and tightens awe....... Well I like the futuristic look and the feel on my wrist. The back case is as beautiful as the front. The lume info on the sapphire back is cool. It does well on straps as the light wieght titanium case balanced well on a custom python strap.

Here's some info off of Zelos's website about this watch.

The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was one of the last few propeller driven attack aircraft to enter service. It arrived late for World War 2 and during the start of the Jet era, yet it enjoyed one of the longest careers in the US Air Force. Despite being outclassed in speed and technology by the latest jetfighters, the Skyraider held its own with a heavy payload and agility. The Skyraider served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and it proved invaluable in providing close air support; for which jets were unsuitable. Zelos 'Skyraider' We christened our latest flieger the 'Skyraider' as it was developed around the handwound ETA 6498 movement. Much like the aircraft, this ETA movement is an anachronism that has been use since the 1950s. The first flieger watches featured large and easily legible dials and hands. They were also powered by handwind movements and hence we set out to design a watch with these principles but with our own touch. Skyraider 2 The latest edition of the Skyraider features slightly more wearable dimensions at 48mm lug to lug and 10.5mm in thickness. The crown has been shortened by 1mm to avoid digging into your wrist. A full titanium bracelet with steel quick adjust clasp also comes standard. ETA 6498 The ETA 6497/6498-1 ( model number denotes difference in subdial position ) features a power reserve of 44 hours and 17 jewels, with a beat rate of 18800bph. It started out as a Unitas pocket watch movement, but it went on to be used in a variety of watches, most notably in Panerai pieces. In this day and age of automatic movements and ultra accurate quartz, the handwound movement brings a level of involvement with your timepiece that's absent from the newer watches. With the rotor absent, the ETA 6498 movement is available in its full glory from the display back. We have decorated these movements with a circular Côtes de Genève engraving on the main plates, and an Anthracite PVD finish. The ratchet wheel has a 'turbine' engraving while the crown wheel features a circular pattern. All screws are blued for the final touch. Each and every movement has been engraved with the Zelos logo as well, and the non-skeleton versions are engraved '1 of 300' to denote the exclusivity of this series. Dial and Case The Skyraider 2 features 5 different dials made from various materials. The 'Teal' dial is stamped with a turbine pattern and a teal color which gradients to black at the edges.

Swiss Superluminova is also generously applied across all models, with a mix of BGW9 and C3 lume to help with visibility in the dark. The thick lume application on the hands also improves visibility for the skeleton models, making time reading a breeze. SPECIFICATIONS Case : 42mm Diameter, 22mm Lug width, 48.5mm Lug to Lug Length, 10.5mm thickness without crystal Water Resistance : 50m Crystal : Sapphire Front and Back Movement : Swiss ETA 6498-1 Élaboré Handwound Movement Decoration 'Regular': PVD Mainplates with CDG Decoration, Blued Screws, Engraved Wheels Skeleton: Fully skeletonised PVD Mainplates, Skeletonised Mainspring Barrel and Hour wheel Dial : Textured with C3 X1 and BGW9 lume Crown : Signed Crown Caseback : Sapphire with lumed text Bracelet Included : Titanium with SS quick adjust clasp and quick release springbars

Enjoy your watches as I do!

That dial is on fire, The transparent case back of the watch allows for an unobstructed view of the intricate details of the movement, enhancing its overall aesthetic appeal.

It's tough Danilo. One watch left for the year. My wife holds onto my Helm Miyako. Number 196. Waiting over a year. She'll wrap it up for Christmas. Then only 2 watches per year.

Huh... The guy I bought my Titoni from also have one of these for sale. A carbon dial, I think. 50 per dial variation, eh? I didn't realize it's that limited. Nice.

That's still not a bad deal. I'm sure that helps with you being more surgical about the two you will acquire.

Stunning watch, congratulations! I share with you same experience: my first watch was a beautiful Timex. I received it in my bed, where I was lying due to some forgotten sickness. I remember I loved hear its ticking and looking at its crispy and clean dial…
