You will be seeking to replace your broken MoonSwatch within a year after it goes to the landfill. You will be asking yourself whether you even need any other watch besides the Casioak 10 years from now. It's a simple equation for me and I don't even like the Casioak. It's not my style of watch.
At $200 CAD I feel like the Casioak(GAB 2100) was worth the price of admission, at $1000 CAD I would feel like I made a bad choice.
There are better ways to get into a high quality quartz watch, like the Longines VHP. If You just want a great/durable quartz watch a Marathon Navigator or TSAR would be my suggestion.
I have one of each and I say if you have a big ass watch collection get a moonswatch. If you don’t have a ton of other watches and you need a reliable tool of a watch the Casioak is great. The metal ones are so cool looking too.

The CasiOak
I’m not the biggest fan of the Casioak, but I’d take it over the Moonswatch unless you just want a collectible.

No doubt, Casio all day long on the chaise lounge. MoonSwatch is a disposable novelty item.
CasiOak for sure
Neither...

Casioak all day.
The CasiOak is way more reliable and durable. Also the potential for modifying is way higher. You can't say that about the MoonSwatch.

Definitely the Casio, will last you for ages and not sure the moonswatch will.
My gentle leaning is toward the
