First post: about my most worn watch ever: Casio A168

Greetings, Watch Crunch community! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Allow me to share the story of my enduring companion, the Casio A168, crowned as my MWWOAT (Most Worn Watch Of All Time). Back in 2015, at the age of 19, I bought this timepiece and seamlessly integrated it into every facet of my life โ€“ from vigorous workouts to weddings, even joining me in the sauna, at nightclubs, and beneath the waves while snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef.

What attracted me initially was its retro charm, coupled with a subtle touch of bling. The A168 seamlessly blended style with functionality, having features like a calendar and stopwatch, while remaining both durable and wearable. Two years later I added a feather-light F-91W to my collection for just 10โ‚ฌ, reserving it as my daily beater. The A168, on the other hand, assumed a more refined role for special occasions. However, fate intervened when I misplaced my F-91W. Instead of replacing it right away, the A168 reclaimed its throne as the GADA watch. The accumulated scratches now serve as a testament to my little adventures, ups and downs and the passage of time. While a pristine replacement would only set me back 30โ‚ฌ, I find myself adoring the character etched into every scratch on my trusted timepiece.

Around a year ago, I fell into the rabbit hole of watch collecting, adding automatic watches into my growing collection. Despite the influx of new additions, the A168 retained its status as my most frequently worn watch in 2023. Its simplicity aligns seamlessly with my current pursuits as a dentistry student. In a professional setting, subtlety prevails, and the A168, with its modest design, lightweight build, and water resistance, fits the bill perfectly. I recently stumbled upon a watch that fulfills all the requirements for my dental office wear. Stay tuned for a future post about it. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I acquired a new F-91W just two weeks ago. This acquisition grants my trusty A168 a well-deserved rest. Contemplating the addition of a Casio AQ... (analogue/digital vintage) for more "dressy" occasions.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the charm of patina and scratches on digital Casios. Yay or nay? Looking forward to your insights and discussions! ๐Ÿ™

I also wax romantic about my vintage Casios, so I totally get this post. For me, I grew up with Casios in the 80s. It's really cool to see that you got into them decades later. It shows how these watches continue to bring joy to people of all ages and how Casio have managed to make such an obviously 80s design somehow timeless.

For me, the F91w is more my jam, but I own both the A168 and A158 and they've gotten plenty of wear!

What I've been into lately is the A700 on an A158 bracelet. It's so thin and light and slips under any cuff or glove.

Thanks for sharing your beloved A168 and keep enjoying your Casios! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
