Weekend Reset - Cartier & Me
It's been a while since my last weekend ramble. Life has been busy but I have been enjoying family time and easing back into our daily routine.
Now it's time for a bit of a look back into my Cartier adventures and how much more I enjoy it.
Going Vintage was the way to go. Don't get me.wrong, I love a brand new Cartier Tank but to get what I wanted, this was the way to go.
There is something about a vintage item that makes my heart flutter. Two of my vintage Cartiers were like new, never used and I learned the owners were too scared to make scratches on it and just kept it. I'm a bit different and I love to use my watches. This to me was a plus.
I enjoy the pairing with my daily jewellery or my outfit. And it helps shape my demeanour for the day (in a positive way).
For now, I've closed the book on Cartier and focusing on enjoying these beauties. Yes, I still fall off the wagon and sneak a peek but I'm holding on 😅😄

The stepped case is perfect. Though vintage I can see this inspiring other pieces even with some of its DNA ending up in more modern pieces. I see Tortue and believe it or not I see this in the Roadster DNA.

I love this watch and went the vintage route for this. And I also have a normal life (also known as bills 😂) so I saved up a bit but going vintage helped a lot.
I'm sure if you look a bit there will be one in your budget 😉
Philosophically I agree about the vintage pieces. Even if unworn they seem to have a story I usually turn into a kind of mystery. Your jewelry is a perfect match imho to the watches. I know you wear other brands (Panerai my favorite) but your Cartier group is very unique and beautiful. So clearly you are enjoying the group and your rants are appreciated. Great day Alex
