I’ve recently starting getting back into photography. It was my hobby for 5yrs and then got too busy. I’m now trying to spend time taking photos to capture memories.
Not eaxactly a hobby but a passion is the un keep and on going restoration and renovation of our ancient brownstone erected sometime during the 1880s. The place is a money pit devoid of modern conveniences unless I perform the undertaking. A gent who arrived in Canada from China with just some skills and a strong back has carved out a comfortable suburban life for his family and himself performing renovations for me during the past few decades. Contractors joke that I over specify and overpay for details better suited for high rise buikdings than some hovel built a few years after Canada’s Confederation. My watches are merely a trivial distraction compared to the brownstone.
Yup. I have a side business in landscape photography. I never really had a collection - just an assortment of tools of the trade until I inherited my dad’s old film SLRs.
I find the photography/watch enthusiast venn diagram interesting. I figure if it’s either due to a love of things mechanical or visually pleasing aesthetics.
I make money with cameras, but have never had much interest in them as a thing to "collect." I do have simply ridiculous amounts of clothes and shoes/boots though.
Digital and film camera’s. Mostly Fuji, and mostly the X 100 series the last couple of years. But also several old Canon and Nikon film cameras.
EDC knives.
Like watches, I am always on the hunt.
I've lost count of the number of cameras I've owned over the years, but I honestly think my X100v could well be the last one I own. It really is that good 😊
I love photography and the fuji x-t20 tells me I should give it some care and time lately... I'm thinking of buying a good tripod and a good macro lens to make some watch pics!
Interesting my two hobbies are watches and photography but not timetelling and cameras.
Superficially kind of similar but actually fundamentally different. With photography the camera is just a means to an end, in watches the watches are the end.

Spot on ! But also cameras can be a pleasure to handle … or not (I love to shoot film on my rangefinders but when I have to deliver a “product” I will use my Sony full frame camera - but without having much fun with that one)

My other hobby is collecting Swiss Army Knives.
I've sort of replaced camera collecting with watch collecting... I thought it would be a cheaper hobby 😕
I collect fountain pens, sneakers, baseball caps, EDC gear.
I collect cameras and watches as well. As anachronistic as they come these days.

Yes Indeed

I have a small collection of fountain pen also :)

I also have a Fuji X100s - my favorite for personal/casual photography and a few rangefinder film cameras

I own 2 QL17's...awesome street shooter with great night performance. Love that camera, but film is $$$ nowadays.

Amateur radio... And snooker... Bowls... Playing records.... Badminton... erm....
Never really considered myself as a camera collector, but for some strange reason I have more cameras than watches...
Headphones & IEMs, just as expensive as the watch hobby.
Fly Fishing, cars (not collecting), Bikes, and Atvs take up the other hobbies.

I have a Pretty decent camera collection, and I’m with you. Watch collecting, in my experience, is the pricier of the two.
I have a Canon F-1 (early model) and a Bronica C
I also have been collecting vinyl records for quite sometime now
I wish I was good at photography. My other big passion is cars (big Porsche fanboy). Backroads and track driving are my adrenaline hits.

Indeed, I shoot film only for some “serious” photoprojects

I had the opportunity to drive several times a CaymanS on some backroads in Portugal - so I deeply understand your passion :)
