Any Sinn U50 Alternatives?

I want to add a toolish brute to my collection, but one that’s still easily wearable. I’m strongly leaning toward the Sinn U50 SDR. It seems to have the toolish, bead blasted, matte look, while offering solid engineering, great build quality, and still being a manageable size for daily wear.

Is there anything that competes with this? While having similar dimensions?

Possibly something from Marathon?

The Boldr Odyssey Freediver is the closest I can think of if you’re after an affordable alternative.

The build quality won’t match the Sinn as it is much cheaper but it has that toolish chunky look while only being 40mm.

Some good suggestions. I hadn’t considered Boldr.

I'll be the devil on your shoulder and suggest you spend even more and get the fully tegimented U50. It's worth it!

·

Marathon GSAR, it's an actual "tool" watch developed for the Canadian and US militaries.

The thickness is 14mm vs 12mm, but that extra 2mm thickness gives you tritium tubes.

I wear my GSAR as a daily, and rarely notice it on my wrist. It fits under a cuff less well than my DS30, but my DS30 is under 10mm thick.

No nothing . Buy one of theses they are simply awesome and you won't regret it.

Of course you could go for the UX but they are quartz. But are so good.

Yes but it is right.🤷 Damasko are good of course, but Sinn are are just a better watch.

·

Thanks again. Good suggestions. I do like the Marathons, but it seems the Sinn is still the front runner for now.

No.

The U50 is just wonderful. I generally don’t get along with dive watches, but I’m completely sold on it.  The biggest issue is figuring out which version to get.

The Olmsted is a fine watch. Right size and a delicious sandwich dial. I have no complaints.

There is no substitute for the U50

Marathons are great all around, this is the MSAR 36mm
