How tough are IXDAO watches?

I just accidentally found out when this IXDAO Serica homage tumbled off my wrist and landed (where else) on the tile floor of my kitchen. It smacked on the floor, landing face down on the tiles. On inspection, it was still running, and the only damage I can see is a bit of scuffing on one of the bracelet end links and a small deformation on the corner of one of the lugs. Very slight damage compared to what I imagined after that impact.

The crystal, bezel, crown, and the rest of the case seem unscathed, and it’s still running within 1 second of current atomic time.

The bracelet latch seems fine. It’s never popped off before. I’m guessing it snagged on something and opened? Or I didn’t latch it properly when I last adjusted it, which was several minutes before.

In any case, this is one time I was very glad to have a homage. And this one seems built tough enough to take some abuse and keep going. The Chinese PT5000 movement also seems tough enough to shrug off some pretty hard knocks.

Anyway, be careful out there. Check your clasps, check your bracelet screws, and keep those watches on your wrists!

Dropped my new super antartic on the crystal yesterday, why do they always land crystal first? 😝

I hope it was okay. At least if it's sapphire, there's a decent chance it won't get scratched.

It survived fine, but I think saphire must have gravity attraction.
