The Big and the small of it...

Before I became more aware of what I could and could not pull off, size-wise on my 6.125" wrist. I purchased, or received, some larger watches. Or at...

Since the 80's. The original brown leather strap was replaced a couple of years ago. I liked the original better, more of a true brown- this one seems like more of a reddish brown.

A keeper

That dial is money. So on that basis can't tell you not to buy it. That said, 'if it doesn't fit you must acquit'.. I have a 6 125" wrist so way too many watches fail on size. I like it, but would pass because for that price range, it has to be a no brainer. This does not quite achieve that status. So wait for something you have no doubts about for your next purchase.

To be sure. One 20 slot case, plus another 6 slot case less 14 warches- so room for another dozen. More if I get rid of any. Most categories are covered- five dress watches, one automatic, one tool watch, several bizarre watches, an inexpensive chronometer style Bulova. But no true diver. Or field/ pilot watch. No bauhaus style - love Nomos or Junghan. No racing watch - like a Tag Heur Monaco for example. And I am a petrol head.

Meanwhile, fell in love with a Hublot Classic Fusion in blue at a boutique. Perfect fit. Grail watch money at almost $8K. So...pass for now.

Love the Seiko Turtle Save the Ocean series for a diver. A tad large for my 6.125" wrist.

Field watch trickier. Maybe Hamilton. Lots of options.

Thank you. In addition to a vintage 80's Seiko Lasalle purchased new, several Bulovas, one purple Invicta- gift from a boss in 2009, one Jules Jergensen purchased in the late '90's while on the Norway - a now defunct NCL ship that was originally the S S. France, a Benrus ftim 1993, the mandatory G-shock, and several nontraditional designs. 14 in all. 15 counting a nonrepairable Bulova Millenia. Room for another 11-12. In memoriam: 14K gold and steel Concord purchased in 1985 in Lucerne.

Best watch story: Stainless steel and white face Seiko that literally saved my life in 1984. Some poirly stacked metal shelves fell on me- the watch band took the hit and deflected them around me- no injury, but large dent in the bracelet. Sadly watch was eventually stolen.

Great opportunity to learn to read some Kanji, yes? Only seven characters should be doable.
