Do i trade my San Martin for an SKX007 with box and papers?

So, the oportunity for an skx008 in good condition arrived at my door. I just dont have the money right now. I would have to sell my San Martin SN021-G-B1 that is my first mechanical watch.

The SAN Martin have sapphire, and PT500 what is theoretically a better movement.

Help me decide

Which do you want more?

Keep your first watch. It's irreplaceable.

Wait, other opportunities and just around the corner.

Are you sure it'll be worth much to sell your San Martian, most times used watches dont sell for a lot.

As a owner of the SKX I can say they are better watches to have. It is not that great of a watch. Just sayin.

That is a fear that i have. There’s some kind of mith on the skx that is an incredible watch, but in reality is a cheap mechanical watch that used to be a great deal. The thing is that i really like the look of it, but i guess the new seiko 5 gmt (ssk001) have a similar look and beeing a better watch overall.

You would be downgrading, just to get a name on your wrist.

The SKX is "iconic" because it was cheap... I wouldn't be surprised if San Martin is the darling of the watch community in 20 years.

San Martin watches are great! I own 6 of them now. I also know that they do not resell for much as I only buy used if it’s around 50% of the retail on the SM website. I would say keep the SM! Plus it’s your first mechanical! #sanmartin

Little worries turn into big fears if you dwell on them. Always trust in your talents.

I am no fan of San Martin but you are going to take a bath if you sell it.

Keep it as is your first mechanical.

The SKX will always be available and honestly, having owned so many versions, it just isn't that great a watch.

The Citizen NY0040 series is a much better dive watch option.
