ORIS Big Crown Pointer Date Bronze

Does anyone on here have experience with the bronze oris big crown for an extended period of time? I have fallen in love with it and im here for the patina. My concern is the bronze bracelet staining my wrist green. If anyone has one with the bracelet would love to hear your wearing experience with it! Thanks!

I think if the bracelet did that, then the watch head certainly would too. Haven’t heard of this happening personally

I love bronze cases and have a few bronze watches.

The bronze. or bronze center link bracelets I've seen look like ass though.

I have one in my collection, same colour and bracelet.

I love it , however there are few things that may be of concern , as far as turning your wrist green the only time I’ve experienced this is when I’ve had my arm under water 💦 (IWork at a marina so it happens a lot ) and forgotten to take it off and dry it afterwords .as for patina the other area of concern is to keep the links from seizing I use a few drops of a lite sewing machine oil to keep things smooth , being a sailor I prefer my bronze to be somewhat shiny with a hint of patina I’ve found rub down with a hand cloth gives it a nice glow but still has some character.

I think most bronze watches have a stainless steel caseback to keep most of the bronze from touching your wrist. I've got a bronze watch like that. But yeah, even where the bronze dose touch, it's never turned my wrist green.

Main watch has Stainless steel/glass back so you won't get anything from the watch head. Can't speak for the bracelet as I have leather strap.

Great watch, love mine 👌

I wear a bronze CW but no bronze bracelet. I think there’s a few things to note. All bronze is not the same. All skin is not the same.

My watch would stain my wrist when I’d sweat in it. It wasn’t too much, but it was notable. As the watch developed its patina this happened less and isn’t much of an issue now.

I would love one of these but I do worry about the same issues. Perhaps a week trial would do the job but I doubt that’s an option. Oris particularly has some great bronze watches and this may be at the top of the heap.

I have the same watch/bracelet combo and have not had any staining etc and I've left it to dull down for 2+ years. Only thing I've noticed is a slight smell from the bronze like copper coins - barely notice it unless my wrist is near my face!

I have a friend with this watch, but his is on a different strap. I think it’s sail cloth, but I could be wrong. This watch is exceptionally beautiful in person. A great blend of simple, practical design, with just the right amount of refinement.

Appreciate the details! Thank you!
