SOTC - 6 months

After receiving feedback from my last SOTC, I've implemented several changes, including the introduction of more vibrant colors!

1) The most notable change was swapping my GS SBGY009 for an Omega Seamaster 300 Heritage (currently worn on a Spectre NATO). While some GS enthusiasts might think I’m mad, I found myself not reaching for the SBGY009 often, and selling it on Chrono24 yielded disappointing offers until a fellow collector from London proposed a trade.

2) I acquired the Blancpain x Swatch during a business trip to Miami, replacing my seldom worn Unimatic.

3) I invested in refurbishing my Rolex Explorer 2 despite the considerable expense.

4) My remaining GS (the Quartz) received a small enhancement with the addition of an aquamarine NATO strap from Bark & Jack.

Let me know your thoughts.

Nice collection. Do you have a grail watch and if so what would it be? 🤔

Rexhep Rexhepi Chronomètre Contemporain II With Ruby or Diamond Indices.

·

Looks like a swell collection and is that a Rothwell box? I ask because it looks quite similar to one I recently obtained.

All lovely but vibrant colours I don't really see apart from a (nice) blue strap and a white Swatch. All out of my league anyway. Not a criticism Harry was just expecting zelos style dials etc, but my vibrant is a personal choice.

I wouldn’t wear anything with too colourful a dial.

Solid.

Ex1 + ex2 polar + speedy + reverso + g shock + that omega on that nato - lovely stuff.

Undeniable.

Love the collection! I was wondering what the cost was or what was involved in the servicing of the explorer ii? I am currently looking at getting a few Rolexes completely refurbished by them and didn’t know how bad it was gonna hit my pockets. I would definitely do the service myself, but it is more than just an overhaul. The problem is that there are certain things that they can do for more extensive services and restorations, that I don’t have access to unfortunately.

It depends on what you want done, what type of Rolex, and who does the servicing. However, the cost of the service for my Ex2 - overhaul, clean, new bezel, etc - cost over $1k from Rolex

Thank you for the detailed response! Like I said, I generally do all my own so I haven’t had to send one in for awhile, this is just beyond my scope.
