Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

Friend of mine who is a watch dealer, sold me the watch I always had my eye on. From there, youtube sent me down a path of watching watch restoration, learning more about movements, etc. Now I have a collection ranging from Breitling, to budget automatic watches.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

The classic Casio digital watch with a backlight. I remember getting it for Christmas as a kid and loved it.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

My Aerospace. Its a watch I always wanted, and always had my eye on. I promised myself when I get my first pay cheque as a pilot I would buy myself said watch as a reward. This didn't happen for a few years after as life got in the way, but, my friend who is a watch dealer got a pre-owned one in and sold it to me for cost price as he knew I always wanted it.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

I am not an expert, so my advice is not exactly that to be listened to. Yes, buying lots of cheap watches adds up to the cost of an expensive one, but buy what makes you happy. Buy something you would actually wear and keep looking at again and again. Its like a car, if you dont turn back to look at it after locking it, is it really a car you like?

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Grand Seiko, Sternglas, Breitling, Casio

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

The absolute dream would be the Super AVI Chronograph P-51 Mustang (in the 18k red gold) but this requires some serious F you money 🤣😂
