I'd expect in watches before the invention of things like Incabloc or diashock it'd be something to be mindfull about. Quartz unless it is quite a shodily made piece (think a 10 buck ali express 3 hander) wouldn't worry to much about it either
It definetely has something going on for it, but I can't pinpoint what exactly it is that I don't like about it. Maybe it is the terrible legibility or the lack of lugs making it be just a circle. I'll try to get it a black leather bracelet or something else.
The solar version of the Timex is much better value, lower price, no battery change and most of all no worries about shoddy no name chinese movements.
Depends on the quality of both printing and indices, and the purpose of the watch more utilitarian models such as field watches and minimalist watches (lets say Nomos), go better with printing while dressier pieces go better with indices, divers are a special case in utilitarian watches since they require a lot of lume which is better applied on indices. That all said, i'd take good quality printing over shoddy indices any day of the week.
Fashion products rarely if ever get patented or copyrighted, because it takes to long to do and they might risk getting their designs stolen before they even get to a see a penny for their effort. So if nobody protects their designs they are up for grabbing tweaking, twisting and straight up copying them. Things like brand names and logo, those are protected IP, so it is a big no-no to replicate. In short homages are ok as long as they don't steal logos or brand names, that makes them counterfeit which is illegal and actually kind of wrong.
