What is in your opinion the best budget GADA watch?

Currently I'm trying to find the best GADA (go anywhere do anything) watch a few bucks can get. Trying to keep it under 150USD but maybe can stretch it a little more.
Some candidates I've gathered (haven't bought any though)

So steel case, bracelet prefered but not mandatory, relatively clean dial (minimal or no complications), at least 100m wr, preferred dimensions 38-42mm, quartz or automatic. Brands from Aliexpress are considered but not prefered.

Most of the time probably going to the lab with the ocasional weekend bbq/pool party

Seiko quartz.  No question whatsoever.

You've got a Japanese micro-electronics conglomerate that has mastered lean manufacturing, ensuring the highest of quality and reliability, at the lowest price possible.  These guys manufacture semiconductors, for god's sake.  Do you have any idea what the tolerances and advanced requirements are in that industry?  They're able to then take that knowledge and know how to make the world's most reliable and highest quality watches.

Seiko FTW.

Might need to stretch your budget a bit but these are 2 great contenders!

Second the Seiko 5 SRPE. Is a great, affordable sports watch.

The new Seiko SRPG field watch I think works great (although slightly more than your $150 range), but if your budget can stretch, I would recommend the Hamilton Khaki King II or Khaki Field. Those are a great one and done type watch

I have a Seiko 5 field watch and can tell you those things can go anywhere and do anything. You can also dress them up if you need to or down as the case may be

SEIKO has gone up in price. I would look at Orient and Citizen. Both have good watches with excellent value. For example: https://www.chrono24.com/orient/orient-3-star-classic-blue-automatik-uhr-herrenuhr-datum-wochentag-fab00009d9--id17561145.htm

Sometimes you can find quartz Tissot under 200 on Jomashop, this is my pick of the ones in stock now. https://www.jomashop.com/tissot-watch-t0354461605100.html Personally I try to avoid bracelets in this price range, the bracelets on my old watches were rattly as all heck. But budgeting ~30 for straps will get you 2-3 good quality fabric straps, which really helps if you just want a single gada watch. A milanese mesh bracelet might also be worth considering, depending on the watch.

I definitely love this Casio édifice 👌

·

I think quartz is better in this case.  Casio Edifice, "Aqua Terra" 😃 is a stunning watch and very reliable. Not to mention that you can find it around £70-80 so you can buy a decent strap or 2 if you wish and still under your budget.

You can also try Long Island Watch - specifically their Islander series. Such a good bang for you buck

I'm in a similar position and budget, I like the EFV 100 but I'm leaning a bit more to their EFR S107 to get the sapphire crystal. If I had to stretch I might consider getting a SWC Ark.
