My first post - SOTC

Greetings to all WatchCrunch users,

My name is Danila, I'm a watch enthusiast based in Belarus. I'm extremely happy that there is now a platform for us all to share our interest and discuss all the facets of the watch-collecting hobby.

I wanted my first post to be an overview of my current collection. I have not invested in luxury watches (and probably never will, I would feel ill at ease wearing a car's worth of money on my wrist), so my collection focuses on the more attainable timepieces, as it probably will going forward.

Picture 1 - Casio A700

My first proper watch. Two years of almost daily use and still going strong. This little grey Casio is what got me into this hobby, so it is very dear to me.

Picture 2 - Tissot PR100

My first Swiss, albeit a quartz. Very enjoying the minimalist dial of it. The most expensive piece in my collection. No wrist shot for it (I don't wear it that often for the purposes of preserving the condition), but I tried my best to present it well.

Picture 3 - Seiko SNXF05

My first automatic. Had to order it all the way from the States, wait several months for it to arrive and pay a substantial customs fee. Absolutely worth it, though. The dial is gorgeous, and the bang for the buck you get with these Seikos is almost unparalleled.

Picture 4 - Luch Single-hander 3.0

A very obscure timepiece from the Belarusian watchmaker Luch. The textured dial is an absolute eye-candy. This baby is mechanical too, boasting the in-house Luch 1801.1 hand-wind movement.

I will probably start a series of posts on the watches by Belarusian watchmakers (that is, Luch and Hvilina) in the nearest future, so stay tuned!

Thank you for reading!

Are there any good recommendations you could give? I'm kind of at a loss

That Casio looks so fine. Is the mesh aftermarket?

Actuallly, no! This particular version of the A700 comes equipped with the mesh bracelet from the get-go. Truthfully, this was one of the reasons I opted for this particular model and version. I didn't want to torture myself with the folded-link bracelets of other Casio models, like the A158/A168, and I do like a good mesh. This Casio would actually be a perfect watch, if it weren't for the resin case.

Lovely collection mate, love the seiko on the leather strap

Honestly i kinda feel your collection is going on a pretty straight path so i tought why not suggest some watches to expand your collection in different ways and change up the game a lil.So here i have some suggestions for you.

The reason i picked the digital casio is because its a legendary 10-20$ piece which you should definitely get so that you can wear it when doing activities where you could damage valuable watches in your collection.

I couldn't be bothered to wear the original bracelet XD

I have ordered a 19-mm blue canvas strap from Barton, although it's been more than a month and it hasn't arrived. I wonder if it has been lost or stolen during shipping.

I have a similar story with my Barton straps, check your local post office, I bought mine from Amazon and they shipped it via Deutsche post to my local PO, without telling me ofc, so I found them 2 months later haha.

Funny that you mentioned the GA-2100, because it's exactly what I've been eyeing and saving money for!

All of your suggestions are lovely timepieces, for sure, I've familiarised myself with all of them. I may actually get the F-91W someday, just to have it since it's pretty cheap.

The Duro would be too big for my wrist (about 16.5mm), so it's a no-go.

Kind of iffy on the Seagull, cos Chinese quality control has bitten me in the ass several times.

Yeah for me the tracking still says "En route from the USA", and it's been like this for a literal month.

Might have to visit my local post office and inquire. Thank you!

I agree, @ermant has a great collection but it’s too professional and refined.  He needs a “fun” watch!

+1 on the Casioak. :)

Difficult to tell, given the nature of the piece. With a watch like this you just have to have a different perception of time. I haven't noticed any gross discrepancies though.

If you know what you're getting yourself into, I say go for it. They've certainly got the charm. Just make sure to pick from the Single-hander 3.0 range instead of the older ones.

I'm thinking of reviewing the watch on this website just for the sake of raising awareness, so you may want to stick around!

Oh wow! If I’m not mistaken that’s 18mm! Can possibly use that mesh on other watches! #watchhack

Privet Danila,

The Casio GA-2100 is a great watch...You will love it. At the moment it comes in many different color combinations as well, so choosing might be difficult 😅

Is the Luch made in Minsk?

Solid group of watches

Is the Luch made in Minsk?

Yup, the plant producing the watches is called the Minsk Watch Plant. Luch is their flagship brand.

Oh yeah, though I have made up my mind about the grey. It looks super sick, and, unlike other models, has a non-inverted digital display

·

Greetings. Nice pieces! The Luch looks so interesting. Looking forward to your future posts and learning more about Luch and Hvilina.

Nice A700! Always looks slick that one.

The funny thing is, the first watch-related video I watched was your video on the A700 =D
Been a fan of your content since, keep it up!

Don’t forget to wear that Tissot!
