The franken-watches of the web

Just chanced upon an Instagram ad for this Casio monster, and it gave me the idea for this post. Tell me about the most obnoxious fakes you've seen online.

Not really a fake, but I must admit that it cracks me up every time I see an S Shock! One even made an appearance in a Netflix movie; Project Power. 🤣

I remember a quartz clone of the Seiko SNK803. If you clone something, wouldn't it make sense to go for an expensive item?

Seeing as there are Casio F-91W clones, apparently not.

Okay, I have to admit I haven't seen those yet. I will make sure I will ask the seller of my next F-91W whether it's genuine. 😉

There are actually a bunch of faked cheap Casios going around. Begs the question: why bother faking something so affordable?

I don't get it either. With the SNK803 I could imagine a $50 profit margin with a quartz copy, but F-91W clones would have to produced at scale to even meet the regular price Casio is asking for.
