Historic Building - Time Hill

A little bit of watchmaking history that I pass on my way home from church. This is Time Hill, the former offices of the Gruen Watch Company in Cincinnati. The building was built in 1916 and is on the U.S Register of Historic Places. It happens to be directly across the street from the former Beau Brummell Company building where they made neckties until it closed in 1982.

Love it!

I have probably passed this building hundreds of times but only recently learned of its history. Had to get a picture and share with the WatchCrunch community.

There are a surprising number of old postcards featuring this building available for sale.

Have also passed this building very cool. Cincy has some strong watchmaking ties.

It is sacred ground (if you like watches).

Now, @dmcguire0208 , wouldn't you feel more connected to this site if you passed by wearing one of these?

They must be all over Ohio, at reasonable prices.

Very cool. A coworker of mine has a couple old tiny gruen pieces.

I know it's there, just never had the time to stop by, even though I'm in Cincinnati several times a year.

Thanks for posting!

It's a gorgeous Tudor Revival building, I bet the interior is gorgeous as well.

It is sure! I recently bought a Gruen watch second hand. I want to take a picture of it on my wrist with the building in the background, and of course share it here.

That would be very cool! In the meantime, you should post a pic of the Gruen to tide us over!
