Found My Grail
Following up from my previous post…I tried on a Speedmaster Professional and it has become my grail!
This may sound weird but I compare every watch I try on to the wearing experience of my Lorier Falcon III. It’s the most comfortable watch I’ve owned since I started collecting so when I tried on the Speedy, I fell in love. It feels like my Falcon III but obviously on a whole other lever. It’s the first watch I’ve tried on and just said yes this is it. The bracelet and the way it sits on my wrist, is just perfect FOR ME. Personally I will end up buying the acrylic model with the fully brushed bracelet. Mainly because of the price but I prefer the more simple look and I take such good care of my watches that the acrylic doesn’t bother me.

I have the Saphire Sandwich 2021 model. I'd always liked the Speedy, but it was the new bracelet and reduced lug to lug that sealed the deal.
Absolute strap monster too. Great on the bracelet, rubber, nato or a nice leather strap.

Same, my grail is a Speedy as well. Hope I could afford it one day.
I had the chance to try one on for the first time a few weeks ago, and it was everything I hoped for, except I didn't really like the bracelet. I might get one someday, but in the mean time I have a Pagani on the way!
I love Omega as a brand, I love the Moonwatch’s story. But I don’t like chronographs. For me, that’s the one sticking point about the Speedmaster that keeps it from being desirable. My one watch would still probably be Omega but something from the Seamaster line sans the helium escape valve.
