i would suggest you save to get this watch, one thing about watch collecting is once you find your grail piece, anything else you try to match it to will always be a disappointment!
Ball is still a very loved watch brand. well priced for the quality and craftsmanship, and a great history to go with it. though i have many watches, i find myself wearing this engineer hydrocarbon more than the other watches.
Remember the point for watch collecting is to enjoy wearing them!
the rolex explorer 1 is a great all around watch, the tudor ranger might look like a great alternative but it is not as refined and you will always long for the explorer 1. Also there is no such thing as a one watch collection, a collection starts at 3 watches minimum.
