Small watch or just large hands?

Hey fellow crunchers, first post here! So I just got this snk809 (yes I know im a few years late to the party) and I’m really enjoying the pilot/flieger style dial on it. I didn’t realize that it would look this small on my wrist though (I think they’re 6.75). Is it just me or is it too small? Or do I just have large hands and small wrists? Lol

Nah you good homie.

You wear the watch, not the other way around.

If you ABDOLUTELY hate it, change the dial to a Seiko SKX007. Google up the old worn and wound article. It's really just a visual trick, but a diver dial will make the watch "seem" bigger.

Also 44mm analog watches are overrated.

Don't get me wrong I wear a ton of big digis, but I also have the blue dial of this watch.

Don't worry about what people say about sizes, wear what you like.

For 99% of the population anything from 36mm - 42 mm is perfect.

The ideal median is 40mm w/a 20mm lug width.

Some prefer bigger, some smaller but on avg the 40/20 rule works.

It’s all personal preference. I also have 6.75” wrists. I tend to gravitate towards 42-43mm diameter watches. 37mm is def on the small side, but the pilot style open face without a bezel tends to make it appear a bit larger than it is, so I think you can get away with it. But bottom line is, your watch is for you, so if you like it, it’s the right size.

Looks good, the dial shouldn't look larger than your wrist in my opinion. Makes it look like a kid wearing their father's watch...

·

Personally I think this is fine. If anything it's on the bigger end of what I would prefer. This is all very subjective as you can see 😉

I was going to say that a watch head shouldn't be as wide as the whole wrist, but I fear I'd anger the natives. It's true though. I don't care about outlying exceptions.

I have an SNK and I think it's as big as I can go on my 6.5" wrist without looking silly/modern.

I feel the OP has chosen a pose to make his hands look wider than natural.

Little bit of both from where I’m sitting.

As one of the resident barbs, show me a tough solar ABC 200m WR with a diameter under 40mm, that doesn't cost me a new mortgage and I'll get it poste haste......💩😎🤪

Man, you’ll find as many answers as stars in the sky. Or something. Whatever, the point is it’s about how you feel about the watch and that may change over time.

For reference, I have a 7.25” wrist and wear watches from 34 to this beast which is at least 42 and probably more.

Looks good! I have an 805 and looks similar ok my wrist. I think the smaller size suits the field watch style. Rock it with confidence!

7" wrist here, and even after modding mine I felt it was too small. Gifted it to my niece and bought a Hamilton Khaki King.

I typically wear 40mm and I think they’re perfect but I really like the dial so I guess I’ll compromise

Very true, I usually won’t wear anything larger than 42mm

That domed crystal looks superb👍 im hoping I’ll just learn to accept it and hang onto it

It looks good, and if you feel fine, don't care about others. By the way I’m also 6,75” wrist with big hands and I like a lot my SNK809

Nice! I believe im just used to wearing larger watches and this one happens to be the smallest I have

·

Looks good to me! Got one on order myself. I have a few watches that are a bit small so I'll wear some leather bracelets with them.

·

Haha nice man. Was my first automatic watch. It is definitely my smallest watch for sure tho.
