Damage: Own It or Hone It?

Ever wonder what's underneath the lume of the Omega NTTD SMP's bezel? Looks like a peach or nude color.

Now, I'm of the camp that will carry / use items to their fullest, regardless of its price - watches are no exception. These superficial marks make it that much more "mine." However, this is where my dilemma begins.

Earlier last night, I found that part of the 0 in the '30' and the line for '35' had lost lume. Although it's not detrimental to its function, I'm curious if this poses a greater chance of the remaining lume to come off? I think it looks cool, like a scar, but is that worth potentially expediting further damage?

Gimme your thoughts or experiences, it's always a pleasure to see what can be gleaned.

Given my proclivity for maintaining my watches with great care, my reaction to your situation would be to get it fixed or get a new bezel. Even moreso considering the value of the watch.

That's one of my grails right there, not sure whether that lume chipping is covered by warranty or whether Omega will say it's wear and tear?

Great lume ,I'd need to get it repaired,I don't mind scratches on the watch but a damaged bezel that's different, had to send my deep sea off for a service and new lume dot as I cracked it

Ouch! That would bug me. However, if it makes you feel any better, I had to study the daytime picture closely before I spotted the damage. If not for the clue in your original post, I might never have noticed it.

Should be covered under warranty. I'd send it in.

If you knew what this thing has been through, you'd actually be well assured 🤣

Ooh, with that broad arrowhead on the dial, this is the 007 Omega, yes? I'd repair it if you could afford it, but it gives it character and does make it yours. If you plan on keeping it forever, you may not feel compelled to fix it, unless it really bugs you.
