Took a 6 hour day trip to KC yesterday for my first AD try on haul. Goal was to try on a blue Pelagos, BB Pro, Longines Zulu time, and a new Speedy. Hit three ADs and a Macy’s. The only one I was able to find was the Speedy.
I did try on some other watches though (See pics).
I was really impressed with all three chronos in the metal! Looked much better in person than online.
At the Tudor AD I asked to see the Santos, but they didn’t have any mediums. Brought out the two larges and the Panerai 40mm. I didn’t fall in love with the Cartier like I thought I would. It was fantastic for sure, but I didn’t connect immediately.
Still don’t like Panerai.

The Speedie was meant to be! Of all the watches you are looking at I'd purchase the Speedie
that breitling top time looks good. speedy too
The speedy 3861 sapphire was really remarkable! Not Boring at all (A fear I had). It wears beautifully. The hesolight didn’t offer any extraordinary level of warmth that made me forget about the display case back on the sapphire.
I was also really taken back by the wearability of the Navitimer It didn’t look ridiculously busy as I expected it would.
The top time dial was also great, but it wore much taller than the speedy and Navitimer.
There are no ADs anywhere near my rural community. I see zero cool watches. The moonwatch was exciting!
Looks like you still got to see enough to make some possible choices. Few of us here will talk you out of the Speedy!
Part of me wants to trade in my Panerai for the Cartier.
The Speedy would by my first choice, but have to admit I love the Navitimer as well.
Too bad you did not get to see the Longines Zulu. I had that one on the radar and decided to go with the Tudor BB Pro.

Did you try them both on? I’m interested in your thoughts.
The Speedy it is! A true classic
Yo, I live in KC. Was at Riley for a few years and technically work in KS now (Overland Patk) but don't venture much beyond KC Metro on the KS side anymore. Good looking watches - interested in what you thought about the Breitlings, specifically.

The Breitling wasn’t something I had seriously considered before now, but the new line is beautiful and much more understated (if you can use that term for a Navitimer) than previous generations. The 43 also wore very well on my 7” wrist.
The top time sat very high compared to the Navi and Speedy…more like a diver. They didn’t have any Premiers.
I was at Mazzerras in OP and the gal told me that the Breitling rep would be in to present and with additional models on December 8.

Nice. I think I love the Chronomat GMT 40 so I want to go see one in person. But that price means I'm quite a ways off from getting one lol

You won’t be sorry.

No unfortunately I do not have a local Longines dealer to have tried it on. I just had to compare the specs to the Tudor. I do have a Tudor AD (a friend as well) so when he had the Pro in the configuration I wanted, I pulled the trigger on that one. As another note, I also was evaluating the Monta Atlas and SkyQuest as well. Let me know where you landed.

It will be a bit before I land anywhere. I will be getting a significant bonus in March and I need to know what I’m going to buy before then so as to not be irresponsible.
Speedy is my pick too, I also tried the Santos on, in the medium and large but couldn't help but feel a little underwhelmed... it is a great watch but I feel like it was built up a lot more in my head after seeing so many youtube reviews.
