I’m now the unofficial watch repair guy in the office.

I’m a lawyer at one of those high level offices and my colleagues and senior lawyers all have watches of course.

They know I’m a watch enthusiast and I talk to them about watches every now and then. The senior lawyers have the nice watches, mostly Subs, Skydwellers, YMs, PPs, Pepsis etc. My colleagues and juniors are not really watch guys so its the Tissot, Seiko, Casio watches.

Anyway, I fixed my colleague’s classic neovintage Seiko diver which he broke during a Christmas dance practice. I replaced his spring bar and it was good as new. Basic stuff.

This morning I got a call from my senior lawyer. The bracelet screw of his two tone skydweller came loose and was jutting out so he wanted me to fix it. So i brought my flathead screwdriver, tightened it up and made sure all the rest of the screws were tight on the oyster bracelet.

Its basic stuff but I’m quite happy that this hobby of ours can provide some help to our friends as well. Its basic to us but to non-watch people its quite alien 🫰🫰🫰.

I will now keep an extra set of Watch tools in my office drawer for the next watch problem 🤣

You know the next step.

Bring a timegrapher to work so your colleagues can compete on whose watch is more accurate

You should set up a watch repair bench in the office and have the company buy you all the tools.

·

lol… I’ve now done similar at work. Mostly battery replacement, and few bracelet adjustments.

It's time for a full service on your bosses Vacheron Constantin fiftysix complete calendar! 😎

Hope you billed them for the work (like all lawyers do best)! 😄

Great way to get to know more people. 👍🏼 good luck.

I think the Skydweller guy has a fake. It doesnt look right at all. Especially the sloppy cyclops.

Hmm I don’t know about that dude. He has quite a collection. He’s a basic Rolex guy, not really a watch guy but a “status” guy I guess? It could just be the way I edited the photo with lightroom though hahaha

Here’s the original photo unedited.
