Cadisen C9067M - it's all about the feels!

One of the earlier Cadisen quartz chronographs (based loosely on the Breitling Superocean Heritage) which were popular on the Chinese sites about 5 years ago and I never bought but really wanted at the time.

I really like this watch, so I'm probably going to buy one now, even though with its cheaply plated alloy case, it's not going to be the most worn or robust timepiece that I would have in my collection. It's certainly not up to the quality of anything in my main rotation.

Why do I want it? Quite simply, it makes me think of wearing a v-neck cricket jumper, maybe even watching a game of cricket on the village green, hearing the smack of leather on willow, drinking a Pimms and lemonade in the late afternoon sunshine, maybe eating a cream cheese and cucumber sandwich. It exudes all things tranquil and Summery like a scene on a Wedgewood collectors plate.

It's nostalgia, role play, and a yearning for something I've never experienced and which no longer exists outside of British TV shows such as "Midsomer Murders", "All Creatures Great and Small", or "Shillingbury Tales" all rolled into one.

It's all about the feels with this one.

Have you seen a watch which takes you away from the horrors of the real world too?

I think a watch can be enjoyed for so many reasons, and I love the association you've made with this. Buy it and enjoy!!

Green and cream is a great combination, definitely a calming old English vibe.

...and I'm looking at one of these for the side of the house (more white than cream, but the sun could soften it)

I posted about it just the other day. My SM 6200 is exactly that. It's fantasy role play and it makes me smile every time I put it on.

I do like your Forzo G2 Drive King, but it reminds me more of golf for some reason. It's weird how watches can make you think of things.

It's very James Bond.

I don’t think I would ever get one, but to take me away to another place, I re-read all the Jeeves & Worcester books every. 5 years or so and can see myself in a spiffing suit wearing this watch in an old open top sports car.

That's how I feel about it too. I don't want to really sit under an umbrella at a table with Richard Briers and the voices of Michael Hordern and Derek Nimmo occasionally in the background. Women in wide-brimmed hats and younger ones who look like Catherine Zeta Jones in pastel Summer dresses hanging around the cake tent... No, none of that sounds good at all.

I dunno, a fair bit of mischief to be had in that scenario!

Watches are better once you retire and stop being a slave to the clock. Now its "that's nice" instead of "I have to be somewhere". All the day/ date tells me now is that they are all days off and let me know when my grandkids are off school.
