Here is another poll for today. Calling all sports watch enthusiasts out there, if you can only choose one of the following, what would it be.

A diver can time but can a Chrono dive?

To me, there are 2 types of "sport watches":

  1. The stuff to wear to play sports.

  2. The "sporty" watch to the beach and such.

I mean, this is not limited to watch. Shoes have the same situation. There are real sport shoes for running and tennis and basketball and golf and whatnot. Then, there are lifestyle sneakers: they look sporty enough, but bringing them to the tennis court and your feet will hate you.

Back to watches.

A watch to bring to play sport is a disposable quartz watch, preferably from Casio. Seriously. When I jerk my left arm on that backhand to save my game, I frankly don't trust any spring to survive intact. And what if a ball or a wall make contact with the watch? Disposable quartz FTW.

Now, sporty lifestyle watches are a totally different matter. Stainless steel watches with at least 100m WR, preferably with a creamy brushed case and some lume, preferably fitting my wrist well (c'mon, we have all worn those oversized monsters), are just delicious. Either mechanical or high level quartz or hybrid (Spring drive) are all nice.

I’d easily pick divers, just for the utility of the timing bezel.

An automatic diver is my day to day wear for any activity, A diver can also be worn 24/7 👍🏻

There is something comforting about knowing your watch is rated for one of the harshest environments on this planet.
